Shit if the FDA had it's way I think a lot of pre workout supplements wouldn't exist not to say that they are dangerous but probably borderline. Still though most just have caffeine and other legal stimulants....I think the FDA should butt out they already regulate the fuck outta everything else, if this stuff was really that dangerous we would hear about way more deaths.

Even back squats are hurting my elbow, looks like I'm stuck using machines.  Seems pointless. Haha

rows are a good substitute for squat if u are trying to work the back...just do all the row machines however I dunno if it will hurt your elbow.

Holding any weight seems to be a no go. Could probably deadlift with straps but I don't have any.

Lay off your elbow for a couple weeks, you keep aggravating it and it'll get worse. Ibuprofen and ice will cut the swelling and pain down.

Thanks for the info, I've been icing it about three times a day, and have been massaging all the trigger points associated with elbow pain. It seems to be working pretty well I guess. Probably going to take the rest of this week off and just run or something.

So I just started bulking after having completed my cutting phase but the question I ask is how much cardio should I be doing a day to keep my fat levels in check and build muscle?? I'am eating very well diet wise everything needed to clean bulk but I always seem to go overboard on the cardio because I worry about body fat percent increase. Anyone with experience on cutting to bulking?? I kno everyone is different just want some opinions on cardio.

Eat clean and only eat just enough excess calories to add about a pound a week. I usually go about 500 cals over mantinence. Do that if your still adding more fat then you'd  like, start slowly adding cardio till you get where you want to be. It is not an exact science.

I'd say cut the cardio and keep eating like you do. Bulk cycles are to add weight. Once you get to the weight you want, add the cardio in minor intervals. If you wanted maybe get 5-10# heavier than you want, then do your cardio but keep your diet the same.

Wondering if anyone could take a look at my deadlift form and give me a little feedback. No one with any decent knowledge is ever in the gym when I'm there to ask, so I figured why not ask here. This is 225 pounds.

looks good, though it's hard to properly judge form when someone is lifting an "easy" weight, and that looked pretty easy for you.

Don't breathe out at the top - that is absolutely the last thing you should be doing.  Take a deep breath before you lift the weight, and don't let it out before the weight is on the ground again.  This is called the Valsalva maneuver - the air in your lungs actually helps support your muscles.

Secondly, go down slower - you just dropped the weight onto the ground.

Finally, it looked like you were looking straight ahead into a mirror - don't do that.  You should be looking at the ground 6-8 feet ahead of you, or a comparable spot on the wall.

I was just pulling my head back. Trying to break myself of that. As for the breath thanks, I didn't even realize it. I was dropping it fast because I was having trouble keeping an arch on the way down, that's probably why.

sort of agree. it's okay to let a bit of air out at the top, though emptying your lungs would be silly.

I was expecting someone to criticize that, but it's fine, as long as it's done in a controlled manner.
if you were doing deadlifts for bodybuilding purposes some might say that not slowly lowering the bar is losing out on time-under-tension, thus potentially making your fibraz not quite as jacked. for powerlifting purposes it's fine, in fact I'd encourage it, as slowly lowering the bar uses up energy that could be used for more actual lifting.

I believe you're misquoting Rippetoe there, as that's what he recommends for squatting.
keep your head up when deadlifting, it helps keep your upper back tight and your back straight.
alternatively, don't listen to me, or pwnasaurus, and do what feels most comfortable. the way you're doing it now is fine.

Heading back to the gym in a minute after a week of due to the elbow issues. It seems to be feeling a lot better. Going to try some light benching and see how it holds up.

Got down about 1/2 at 500# (twice), then 4" from parallel on my 3rd attempt. Getting closer!!!!
