be careful fucking with your back man. you need it for the rest of your life and EVERYTHING is connected to it. IMO give the back a break till its 100% and then once it is REALLY ease back into things and dont overdo it. Im 28 and got a herniated disk a little over a year ago i was out of work for 3 months (paid) and had PT 2 times a week it wasnt until the 8th month after that i was able to get back into the gym at 70% and even then my back would hurt for a couple days and fucking really hurt the back lol. Im back to 100% now but that was 14 months ago you dig? treat the back with respect. A bigger lift isnt worth a broke back. naaaaasayin?

Actually, I'm not even sure if that's possible without a loss in muscle mass, I guess we will see.

I know... I would do great if I worked on commission.  lol  I swear they fixed a bunch of little things that were wrong with my lower half.  I know it sounds like a tire commercial but your feet are the only part of your body that touch the ground.  On top of that the human body was not designed to be up right and move like we do.  Not to say that the V5's are a cure all but you'd be suprised at how much they do actually help.  Someone, I forget who got the addidas version, I assume they will work similarly.  The soul that vibram makes is one of a kind.  I don't know how to explain it.  They have this patented heel cup and its so comfortable.  They sell souls to a few companies merrell is one of them.  I'd rather be wearing a pair of those than barefoot.
/advisement...

So WorldWide, and whoever else has toe shoes that can chip in on experience. Do you wear them all the time, or just in the gym/exercise?  I have read that whole thing about how modern shoes give us a weird posture, so  looking into toe shoes might be worth it.  Do you think they help with giving you a better straightened posture and better on the joints?  Could they fit comfortably if you had a massive bunion?  They just seem pricey for something that looks like those water shoes from the 90's : ()

Are there normal vibrams and vibram five fingers? I saw some vibrams the other day and im considering getting some. I always wear flat shoes anyway and have been making the switch walking with the front of my foot over the past year or so. I do it 100% of the time when running now, and I'm getting close to always doing it casually.

I switched to them from punch boxing shoes (flat) and normal gym shoes. can't say enough good things about them. they are amazing... if you can try them out... if you like lifting barefooted you will love the vibrams... and they have even more styles now... check them out. worth every fucking cent.

Oh I looked them up and they are different from what i was thinking of. I saw some shoe i thought was called a vibram the other day in a store, and it was a minimalist shoe that basically had some tough mesh and a hard sole. I don't think I would ever get the ones with separated toes though. Call me vain if you want, but I care to much about my appearance.

yeah there are many different style... i think they are marketing the actual minimal shoe harder now because people go for them more than the toe shoes for fashion sense which is stupid... the actual five fingers are the business, though... trust me... my mum has about 8 different pairs and she uses them for duathlons/running/walking/etc and she said the toe shoes are 1000000x better.

do they really look that bad? (shameless pic brag included free of charge)

also, if you care about your appearance in the gym you are failing already. the toe shoes really don't look taht bad.... just get the all black ones and you can't tel the difference without looking closesly... they get some weird looks but people soon realise you're actually wearing a badass piece of footwear.... they really don't look that bad and pull off looking kinda cool. i've had many compliments not to mention they're a great conversation piece with the ladies.

True, I wear some pretty mismatched/odd outfits to the gym and  guess my current gym shoes look pretty bad... Now that i think about i guess i will pick up a pair and try them out. You won't catch me anywhere but the gym with them on though.

I wore mine for a long time 24/7.  I got tired of people asking me about them because of my long windind adversizing-response.  So I just wear them to they gym now, part of that is because its wet/cold out and they are mesh... They make a leather boot type of shoe right now for cold/outdoors.  I have the bikila. They are more geared for running that the rest or so they say.  I want the kso or the kmodosport next.  I am probably going to get them in the next few months.  The ones I have now are  starting to fall apart.  I am going to do some minor sewing repairs in the next few days to get some extra time out of them.

The souls they make have this heel cup thing that is amazing.  I am going to get a pair of the merrell barefoot's for the summer.

The Adidas are gym specific, and not meant for running in. I'm sure I could wear them all day, but I'm kinda hard on shoes and really don't want to destroy them.

I've been to the gym 2 times in 2 weeks, and decided to hang out yesterday rather than hit the gym (til 3 am mind you), so today there was no possibility of going in. Tomorrow they open late and close early and Sunday I believe they have odd hours. Giving myself this week to get up to 5 hundo in squat and 4 in bench. Started my "extreme" letrozole RC as well, not sure if I'm gonna do any more injections (which means I'll probably do another two) til my lumps go away. Can't wait to get in, I gotta get out of this funk I've been in thanks to 9 hours of daylight for the past 5 weeks. February will be the first 10 hour day, but I miss the 15 hours of daylight we get in summer

Man at my gym people take their shoes seriously....you gotta have badass shoes to "fit in" mine are pretty sick but some people wear some really loud colored ones like orange or blue that really stick out...I dunno just the usual attention seekers like in any part of our society.

The adipure are like $90. I say fuck people, I go to the gym for me lol (when I go) and could give a shit less about the people there. Some folks do get watched, namely the Bosnian who squats 5 plates like its nothing, and the chicks who wear sports bras and yoga pants, but my eyes never venture to their feet lol.

So tomorrow I will have access to gym equipment over lunch, gonna try to get in some high rep low weight squats and DL. Get those muscles working again, and finish with a heavy lift or each to get them loaded up and ready. Getting stretched and limber today. Take a nice hot bath late night and drink some beta alanine to buffer my muscles (gonna shoot for 3g tomorrow, 2 pre and 1 post). Gotta buy gel caps and load them with leucine, which is a bitch.

Anyone try leucine, or aminos, for a long period of time? I've only ever loaded up about a weeks worth at a time so I never saw any results.
