If anyone wants a leg workout that will DESTROY your legs. I have done all types of exercise routines/combiantions for legs, many that seem way harder than this, but some reason this sequence of particular exercises always tears my legs up the most. Use moderatly heavy to heavy weight and use good form.
-4 sets squats 8-10 reps -3 sets leg press (hammer strength floor style frame machine if you have one-push seat very close to leg pad) 8-10 reps -3 sets dumbell deep lunges 8 - 10 reps -3 sets leg raises till burnout each set (try 10+) reps -3 legs leg curls (hamstring machine) 8 - 10 reps
burnout calfs with whatever calf machines you have available.

As for the shoes just some field shoes with rubber cleats tied really Fucking tight I think. Lots of people lose their shoes in the mud and at the end throw them in a huge ass pile. I think they put a thickening agent in the mud to fuck with people. More fun for me!

Could the thickening agent be dirt?
A coworker is planning on running that, and I believe he's just wearing his running shoes laced tight. I think most people ditch their shoes cuz they get drenched and your foot slides a lot in them.

I used to want to get the big, bulky, bodybuilder look, but I realized with my affinity to fat, a large powerlifting look would be more fulfilling for me. There's this guy at the gym who sits there and warms up with 3 plates when squatting, and his working sets are in the 5+ plate range. He's not bulky at all, but I think he would be a really skinny guy otherwise. Gotta hit the gym tonight, will post if I can actually squat, my glute doesn't hurt as bad as normal.

Well they talk of their "patented tough mudder mud" if they put some form of thickener like stuff that's more capable it wouldn't surprise me kinda like adding corn starch to soups to make them thicker. But I guess it could just be more dirt too.

do you do those all separate or mix them in together? (ie - do 1 set of squats, then 1 set of leg press, then one set of lunges etc)
or just do them all in one go?
sounds good might try those next legs day.

Crazy, they might put something in it then, corn starch would actually be my guess. You ever mix cornstarch and a little water? If you put your hand on it it'll sink, but if you jab it with a finger it's hard as hell. It's called oobleck and it's a non-Newtonian fluid. Pretty cool shit.
I did a similar leg workout, sans leg press, as you're not really using stabilizers, it's like doing squats under a smith machine. We'd end with wall squats with a ball behind our back and leg curls with a ball, couldn't walk for a couple days after and never really got that muscle memory where you'd never get sore.

When you say deep lunges do you mean deep as in taking a huge step? For me the longer the stride the more I work my hip ad/abductors more and when I go for a 90 deg angle with both legs it kills my quads... Just wondering what you are trying to hit more of.

I meant deep as in just really feel the stretch when you are doing the lunges. Whatever way you feel the most work in your legs. Everyone is different. I usually go deep and feel it only in my legs but it might be because I am pretty tall.
And Indica, you do them seperate. After you finish your 4 sets of squats move on to do 3 sets of leg press, then when the leg press is done, move on to 3 sets of lunges etc.
edit: I forgot to mention after the leg workout you can do 10-15 minutes of a stair machine/stair climber on the slowest setting and squeeze your quad for whatever leg is going down.. Just go really slow and focus on squeezing while your 'climbing' it will add some extra detail.

um... is it even possible? I weighed myself right before I hit the gym last friday (2 month hiatus) and weighed myself just now. I have put on 6.5kg/13.33lbs in less than a week. Is that even fucking possible? if so... holy fuck.... hahahaha
awesome
everything hurts and i'm filling back out pretty quicky. this is really super cool, I'm hoping by the end of next week I will be back to beast mode.

Water retention and a huge turd backed up with a full bladder? Or just turning into a monster.

Haha, thats crazy Indica, you must have been starving yourself. Yeah, 13 pounds in less than a week is pretty much just water and glycogen, on top of a full stomach. You will gain pretty much all lost muscle back after a break from the gym.. just not in this time frame (less than a week). The body is smart, and has excellent muscle memory, so it will come back relatively fast (a few weeks). Its safe to say that the initial weight gain after the hiatus is mostly water/glycogen because you are probobly eating a lot more now, and consuming more carbs (hence the filling out), carbs really hold on to water.
But I mean if your going for the power lifting strength look your all good because most of them wouldn't give two thoughts about water retention, or high body fat for that matter anyways, its about the lifting numbers! . Just watch your bf%, a lot of power lifters will jeopardize their cardio health for the sake of adding dirty mass, 'naw mean?

"Dirty mass", I like that lol. Tried to squat last night and couldn't do regular, but got 185 on front squat for 8x3, next time I'll do 225. Talk about a killer ab exercise lol. I did some pull downs, both with and close grip, bis, tris (press downs and overhead for long head isolation) and upright rows and Arnolds. More a mass type workout than strength, but my glute feels almost healed.
So my buddy put on 20# in his 3 month cycle, and lost probably 5-8% bf, he's fucking massive now, I hate it. I feel like I look small, and he's as strong as me now too. I still have a while left on my cycle if I stick with it, this pain shit just has to stop cuz it's killing my major lifts.

probably is retention but goddamn am I eating a lot, just now I had 6 eggs on wholemeal with bacon for breakfast and a huge bowl of oats with strawberries, plain yoghurt and honey. perhaps yes some dirty mass, i am definately getting a little bit fatter but i do not mind so much as long as muscle development happens accordingly.
I won't eat again until after I train, I keep getting offered cycles of deca, stanazol and just about anything else I could possibly want but I'm just having to say no no no
au naturale, boys, i just hate being back at square 2 again..

Nice thread, I've been back to working out the past several months. I'm switching up my routine to the starting strength routine. I can't believe how many sore muscles I had after my first day, great stuff.
On a side note, on my second deadlift day. Two bro-fags working out on the leg press and back extension machines where watching me and commenting while I was doing 5 rep deadlifts. "wtf is he doing? squats? I don't fucking know" "weirdo". - wow! seriously?

give yourself a solid year of steady gym time before even thinking about roids. this isn't specifically to indica really 2 years is a must 3 is preferable, but indica seems to have a steep learning response time I think he could juice safe in a year
