Fuck that's no lie, my stretches have been pathetic, and that's making myself feel good about them. Definitely something I once had that I've let go too long.

Hello,
What exercice of the basic program from rippetoe's book (squat, bench press, deadlift, press, power clean) works the biceps?

Both power clean and chin ups. The dead lift and press also do, but none of these are meant as "beach muscle" they're strictly as a supporting muscle and aren't gonna get huge (minus the chins). My buddy is doing the SS program with me and the shit head keeps doing curls, and though I tell him not to, he won't listen.
Update:
This is where I am today, I figure that by beginning of December I'll be about 200# heavier (or 90 kilos for you "systems of 100" weirdos) in my squat, which makes me happy cuz my goal of 500, 500, 400 may very well be reached!
275 squat 235 bench (had to jump up cuz I missed a couple) 255 dead lift

Biceps are used every time you move your arms. The only ones that wouldn't work your biceps very much would be deadlift/squat. If your going for ascetics do curls. I can't think of a better way to work the biceps. Curls are for girls... lol keep that in mind.
On another note, I've been lifting regularly again. I've decided to go running as soon as I wake up for a little bit. Some days farther than others, between 5 and 30mins. Nice way to start the day for sure.
@bronco, I'm about 75lbs behind you. I'ma try to keep up this routine I've got now. Should catch up to you soon.

Nice man! Keep at it, and do it right, once you hit a point it gets easy again, not looking forward to hitting the wall. When I started it was tougher than I thought it'd be cuz I vary in reps and shit but once my body got into the sets and reps I've responded well.

Hi guys!
I clicked this thread to read about power-lifting, even though I do not harbor the bench & rack to do.
Anyway, been working out for about 3-4years on a off, more on than off. 100% on, lately.
Well, I was really excited to see my workout routine mentioned in the first post: German Volume. It's working really well for me. I only have two dumbbells, one barbell and ~130 lbs. of weight. I chose GVT because I can actually use my shit effectively, without having to buy more weights or find room for a bench.
I'm interested in MMA. That's all I am going to say about that; I haven't been to the local MMA gym yet.
5 days per week GVT: Sunday: Off
Monday: Legs 10x10 Squats Weighted Situps
Tuesday: Back 10x10 Deadlifts Weighted Situps
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Arms 10x10 Curls 3x12 Tricep Extensions Crunches (Tate presses if I'm feeling it)
Friday: Chest 10x10 Dumbbell Flyes Pushups
Saturday: Shoulders 10x10 Arnold Presses *ALTERNATED EVERY OTHER WEEK WITH:* 10x10 Shoulder Raises Crunches
I throw other shit in there, too.
Weight: 186 Height: 6' 0"
TOMORROW!: Punching bag is here (again). Working my way back up to 6x5minute round training.
Keep it up, lifting brothas!

Current PWO: Lean Mass Revolution This shit is simply amazing. This is the second time that I have cycled through it.
It no longer contains DHEA, so don't worry about it! I give this supplement a 9/10 for pump, energy, and concentration! You never want to quit working out. It's as simple as that.
The negative aspects of this PWO are the bad, chemical, cologne-type taste. Here's the thing: anyone who used old-school supplements does not give a shit. Only recently have so many people decided that PWOs and protein are what is missing in their routine, and that the lack of it has been the only thing holding them back from being 300 lbs and cut. Grow up; you can mix a scoop of this with only ~2 ounces of water. It is like downing a shot; don't be a pussy, now is not the time. You're about to work out for fuck's sake!
I seek PWOs that give me concentration to power through all ten sets of my GVT, and then my additional supplementary exercises. I pay 50$ for 45 servings of this, and that is slightly overpriced. The only reason that I pay the high price is that our local store sponsors many MMA events in our area, and I will pay the extra dollars to know that I am supporting these extremely entertaining events. They also have excellent customer service and do not try to sell my shit that I do not want or need. I rate the price: 8/10 for the various factors mentioned above.
Nobody likes a crash from their supplement. I only crash the first two or three times that I begin my cycle on Lean Rev. It is pretty extreme the first day or two. After that there is a perfect medium between the tolerance that your body creates and the effects of the crash. They are not noticeable after a few days. The nice thing is that even after you no longer have any crash (if you ever got any), it consistently continues to take affect in 15 minutes after ingestion throughout the 45 servings. I therefore give this PWO a No-comedown/crash rating of 7/10!
Overall, I give this PWO a 9/10 It is probably my favorite pre-workout supplement, and I dread running out because I must switch to something else.
I've tried many supplements and look forward to writing about some more for you guys here at the Shroomery.

before i lose thought by reading on. Man i only do one workout, just regular curls. And thats on and off. I didnt workout biceps for 4 months straight. With all the power workouts and heavy weight and now getting back into only doing 25 reps worth of bicep curls. My arms are getting huge. Just because the rest of my main body is strong. Just add in some bar curls. Dont go overboard. Trust me the rest of the stuff will make them come around.

I've tried NO Explode and a GNC nitric oxide booster and I saw small improvements with both. I also just finished a tub of Jack3d which I thought was great.

Yeah, the 10x10's are the main part of my workout. The interesting thing about GVT is that you do not count a rep unless it was executed in proper form. The idea is to actually not be able to perform all 100, but get as close as possible until you can do it. You then add 2-3% weight next workout. A hard part about it is executing correct form. The hardest part, in my opinion, is the fast rep speed and 60 seconds intervals between sets. By set 8 I am usually feeling pretty worn down.
I have adjusted the workout, however. I'm unsure if it's a good idea, but I do sets of crunches or auxiliary exercises in between my sets rather than just resting for 60seconds. If I can hammer out 30 crunches or situps while my arms kind of rest, I stay in the fucking zone.
It will be interesting tomorrow, because I haven't had a heavy-bag since I was somewhat less serious about training. It was long before I discovered GVT.
And thanks a ton for your encouragement. Nobody around me, other than my father, knows how seriously I work out. Needless to say, I don't get very much motivation from others. It means a lot when someone can tell how much work you put into it.
It's funny that you mention doing some max stuff instead. Last night my deadlift bar was on the floor when my dad came home. He was like "damn, were you doing presses with that?" I said 'nah, deadlifts today.' So he said "I could probably press that." I told him that I would try if he did, even though I thought that I couldn't do 1. Well, I did 5 correct-form military presses. It felt great, and was a lot more fun than GVT. I actually considered doing some 5x5 or something more fun, but I remember that these months of GVT have gotten me where I am at.
It's still a possibility. I'm not looking at MMA to participate in the sport, but to learn defense and spar with the best (the local MMA guys). I got mugged once, and it affected my motivation. I was in the hospital so I missed a lot of workout time, but it made large improvements in the way I view my routine. Next time I'm going out with fists of fury and flying teeth.
I think once GVT gets miserable, or if the cardio on a heavy bag changes my physique, I will switch it up. Thanks a lot for your reply! Quote:

Hell yeah. NO Xplod was the first PWO I ever used. It was decent, but it really doesn't compare to anything I've tried since. I hear jack3d is excellent, but I haven't tried it. I think, when I was researching PWOs, that jack3d was top-of-the-line shit that everything else got compared to.
