Wow thats gotta be rough. No way i could do presses like that without demolishing my shoulders.
Ya i haven't tried 1rm's since highschool sports either. I always try to crank out atleast 5. If i cant get 5 the weight is too heavy.

That situation sounds like it's pretty shitty. I wouldn't feel safe lifting at my current numbers without a power rack. Especially on my max effort day.

My last 1rmx's are, 315 on squat, 210 on bench, 140 on press. My deadlift was 335, I haven't attempted to dl at all since a rib injury though. Really the only lift I wouldn't do without a rack would be squatting. I can still safely roll the bar off mearound the weight my bench is at if I fail.

Guess who's back!!! Not in lifts though. After a foot injury and school, I'm just now getting back, almost a year out. Squats are coming back strong, still in the 325 range (not the 500# I was at pre injury though) and bench has come back to the 225 for 3x10, so probably a 285 1rm. Still no DL for me, but I will be starting that smolov again once my recovery times drop from 1 week to 2 days haha. Champ, awesome lifts, but be warned, in 3 or 4 month's time I may be competition. It's good to be back, and disheartening to see all the progress, knowing I went stagnant while you guys grew. Good motivation anyhow.

That explains everything. I have not deadlifted in 2 months because I have been squatting more heavily. I am curious what I could deadlift now.

I bet his DL will be close to his squat weight. They grow together pretty well.
