I was looking for a way to buy 100 100-120 qt tubs. they cost 10 bucks a piece. so my question is how can i make or buy something similar for cheaper, or another method all together? ive tried pricing out plexiglass and just plain glass but they are even more costly. help is greatly appreciated

of course tubs is cheaper.
but you should just make a room a fruiting chamber
instead of filling a room with ONE HUNDRED tubs.
also you wont need 100 tubs. not matter how big you think youre going

I am already in need off 100 tubs they are for gourmet mushrooms that i need to keep in a perfectly controlled environment a different environment in each tub for research. so i most definetly need them, unless there is an alternative.

i did the exact math on it they all fit nicely inside of a 12' x 11' room stacked on top of each other and i have more room if neccesary. i live in a 4000 square foot empty ass house.

I don't know what gourmet mushrooms are you trying to grow, but monotubs aren't the best for edibles (or "perfectly controlled environment" for that matter)...period.

did you think about how you are going to provide this specific differences in climate? and how you will be moving these tubs around to tend to the tubs on the bottom of the stacks. and the ones in the back of the room.
and srsly if we are talkin about cubes here you will not need 100 tubs.

we are not talkin about cubes and everything fits on the walls not all over the room
and as for climate control each one has a tropic aire with an air pump setup that blows hot air inside when needed

The idea of 100 tubs per month isn't totally unreasonable if he has the right gear to handle that kind of volume. It'd be a full-time job and one requiring a substantial autoclave as the heart of the operation. 100 tubs breaks down to dealing with 4 tubs / day, 5 days a week, to equal 100 tubs per month. Those 100-quart tubs, I find, work best with about 8 quarts of spawn. So you'd need 800 quarts of spawn, or 200 per week. My pressure cooker handles 110 half-gallon jars(or +/- 235 quart jars) , so this would be theoretically possible for to pull off, running a PC like mine just once a week.
With a comparable PC (mine is over 100 gallon internal volume), one could generate enough cube spawn in three runs per month using bags rather than jars. But again, serious workload. It takes several days for all the soaking, loading, unloading, cooling, and grain to grain or liquid inoculation, not leaving much time to make, monitor and harvest those 4 tubs / day.
So if you have the need for 100 tubs, Trashcansean, my curiosity about other elements of your operation is piqued. How many people do you have helping you? And what plans and equipment do you have for sterilizing to create spawn?
Good luck with your venture.
