Do we really know where we're going?
    #14566187 - 06/05/11 07:53 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

The people, environments, institutions, food we consume, etc. shape who we are and who we will be, as well as what we are and what we will become.

Do we really know where we're going?

Do you?

The question seems kinda broad. I have tomorrow off, so I'll be going several places before returning to the spot I'm sitting right now. Beyond that, I'm not real sure. There's a short term outline, subject to change, and then just some ideas that to some extent guide my curiosity. There is another path which could be called the evolution of our psyches, but all the future details seem sketchy and "live and learn" is a pretty linear path with no end in sight. Beyond that, there's not much going to be known about as far as I know.

Nope, nothing is for sure. I've spent my whole life being wrong about the things I thought I knew. :monkeydance:

Still, I have my suspicions. :satansmoking:

I am really not going anywhere fast.  The destination used to be important and when it was reached to maintain some arbitrary schedule a measure of further supposed success or failure.

The food we consume has more to do with who and what we are than the rest of it.  More so if we eat a bunch of garbage.  Man I see a lot of fat people and I blame the sugar addiction/cycle of energy ups and downs.  Totally unnecessary but like any habit hard to break.

Speaking of sugar.. just today I weighed out 50 grams of sugar and put it into a thin drinking glass.  My youngest bro drinks tonnes of pop with high sugar content and wonders why he's got all these problems.  So I covered the glass with my hands so he couldn't see the sugar, and made him guess how much a typical can of pop has.  He guess around 1/10th the amount that was in the glass.  He was shocked and didn't believe me when I showed him the healthy serving of sugary goodness.  I whipped out the scale, and bam bro, look what you've been putting in your body all these years.  Now I just hope he listens.

I remember in elementary school we had a pop machine.  :hotidea:
