Ron Paul is asking for $2,000,000 to fund a campaign against Mitt Romney's healthcare plan. You can donate if you wish at http://www.ronpaul2012.com/
He's raking in the money pretty quickly. The donation ticker is going up thousands of dollars every few minutes.

What the fuck do I care about Romneycare? The only people affected are the Massholes in Taxachusetts. None of my damn business. Or Ron Paul's, he's a Texas asshole. Wouldn't this be considered an intrusion by a federal politician in a states' rights issue? Why yes, yes it is. What a smarmy little cunt that L. Ron fellow is.

lol zappa i knew you'd love that. gotta see what else is out there. at this point, i'll take extreme fiscal conservatism over just about anything else - since thats teh ONLY THING at this point that I KNOW FOR A FACT will get us off of this unsustainable path we have right now.
Or at least he'll make the most effort. Obviously the house/senate gets thing sdone --- but i think he could put a good foot forward.
look: i think the guy's a nutcase. but nobody else will address my fiscal concerns!

It doesn't have to be about whether you are affected by Romneycare or not--it's about Ron Paul defeating Romney and winning the republican nomination for president of the United States. Besides, I haven't heard Paul's rebuttal for Romney's healthcare plan yet, the campaign is only now asking for funding. Maybe with some cash, Paul can make a commercial or announcement detailing his opposition to Romney's plan. What makes you think Paul's opposition to it will be an intrusion of state's rights?

Romney has never expressed a desire to impose Massachusetts style health care on the entire country and Ron Paul doesn't need any money to make a statement.

You can make a much bigger statement with two million dollars and a kind word than you can with just a kind word.

Yeah but he is a liberal flip flopper on healthcare and abortion. It doesn't matter if he doesn't want it on the federal level, either you agree with the idea forcing people to buy healthcare of you don't.

I think it is against the US Constitution for the federal government to do it. I do not believe it is against the Massachusetts Constitution for Massachusetts to do it. It is a liberal state. The people of Massachusetts wanted it. I do not know, nor do I care, if they are happy with it since I don't live there.
This is, of course, a big problem for Romney but he was always going to have problems because of the fact that he was from Massachusetts. Those Massholes believe different things than much of the rest of the country.

I'm relatively confident he'll run.
More so every day. The presidential field is comparatively weak, his parties status in his State is very strong and likely wouldn't be negatively impacted should he move on to a higher office, and I just feel that with a little prodding from a prominent source that he would be willing to throw his hat into the ring.

I bet there's quite a few GOP politicians who would love to poke him with their prominent source

I'm not so sure about any of that, including the weakness of the field. For instance Tim Pawlenty. His only issue is name recognition (and maybe fundraising). As the season moves along that will inevitably change.
You know who has a weak field for 2012? Democrats.
