Fires in campgrounds and embers

Meditating on it, seeing a projection of my subconscious revealing itself in it, after a period of time 3-D images like watching a movie with images and movement. What a wonderful state to be in! To leave the consciousness of the larger whole of society that discounts such experiences so quickly when I feel my thought going to a campsite nearby, pulling myself back to "reality" of the consciousness of the overall societal contract.
Native Americans used to hold a high regard for this, or so I'm told. Not that it really matters but an enjoyable and insightful experience when I can get to that "third eye" perspective.
Anyone else tried this or had experiences similar?

No drugs involved? Sounds like you have a good imagination.
Staring at fire is a great release.

I have also read a lot about sun gazing and the benefits that it gives you. I might have to try this type of meditation out though sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a psychedelic, however, just focusing on the space in my forehead where they say the third eye is and meditating with a slighly crossed eye, over time it has opened up.
Like Lennon and Morrison came to a conclusion that after awhile they don't need the substance but just training oneself in a way. It's all activating parts of your mind with psychedelics isn't it?
I think I could go to such a deeper level with the "drugs" however, spirit vine (DMT), lsd, mushrooms, pot, etc. Even though drinking I had one of the most amazing metaphysical experiences in my life in the wilderness camping. But it had to do with an influence of another in that state of openesss.

When I was at schwagstock I had eaten a ten strip of fluff and our fire logs were covered in mushrooms. Well when I started the fire I witnessed the life and death of all those shrooms. I was the only one out of the group able to look at it because it freaked everyone else out for some reason though. But I got stuck on watching them, and was having a lot of revelations about life and death. It was probably one of the most moving things I've seen. It may not be the exact same thing your talking about, but it was just an amazing moment for me and I thought I'd share.

Fires provide good thought material. Just last night I was tending to a fire for hours and hours and hours. Eventually there was an impressive layering of heat that was happening. Tucked in the heart of the fire were the hottest coals, burning so bright they almost looked white. And as that heat got closer to the edge the coals became redder and redder. As if it was bleeding the heat out. And then the flames themselves rising up into night sky as if in defiance of their eventual fate.
All the while all I can think of is the immense energy contained within this fire and that as it goes farther from the center it gets weaker and weaker until it is completely enveloped by entropy, eventually fading from existence.

Yeah, just to get to that transendent perception even for a short time is a amazing experience. Though it's very difficult to explain but it's a clarity in my experience that is very personal and unique to the individual.
Though to try to explain it to others who understand to a certain degree is a very difficult thing to convey.

Fire is pretty amazing. The first time I was ever on mushrooms involved a campfire with my brothers, cousin and g/f at the time. It was such an amazing experience, truly out of time. The embers in the fire all began to form little faces looking back at me.
Fire, in esoteric symbolism, represents intuition and magic. I think there is something important to this as far as ritual goes. For me, it definitely aids in meditation setting up a centered ambiance.

It represents energy transforming to me, like a transmutation. I can see how it symbolizes intuition as well.

I like this, thanks for sharing; I enjoyed reading your observations and the experience you had tending the fire.
I like to think of everything like you described in your end statement. In the center of things the energy is immense and infinite, as it moves away from the center it starts to fade away. Thanks for sharing brother.
