I played through the demo for this a few times today... I am dissapointed.
I was a huge fan of Red Faction Guerilla despite its flaws but this game seems to be a step backwards. I actually like the fact they streamlined it and made it less open world and more of a linear shooter. But the thing that ruins it for me is the environment and the enemies. Blasting a bunch of aliens in a series of underground caves seems pretty damn lame, and judging from the reviews i've seen this is a big part of the game.
I know there are human enemies in the game as well, but I wish they were brought into the primary again. Seriously, fuck aliens and fuck caves.
Probably won't be buying Armegeddon, but this demo inspired me to dig out my copy of Guerilla.

none of them really compared to the first one. I felt guerilla was way better than red faction 2, and had some really good game play elements. but it definitely wasn't anywhere as good as red faction 1. the first one was pretty fucking kick ass, hard to replicate that shit.

I never really played too much of the original red faction. I got into the series with guerilla and I am mostly just interested in the destruction engine used in the newer games.
I bought this game today despite my better instincts, i'm about to start playing but I have a feeling it'll be up on ebay in a week or two.
Hopefully it's worth it.

Guerilla surprised me at how much fun it was. The open world was really empty, but it WAS open, and it had its charms. This new linear style is just, as you said, a step backwards. Not getting it.
Omg guerilla with cheats turned on was seriously some of the most fun ive had with an open world game. You basically became a dbz character with a HAMMER

I bought guerrilla on steam when it was on sale for 5 bucks like 2 weeks ago.
It's really fun but there are some game breaking bugs on the PC's little skirt. Sometimes it shoots off in all directions like tan sunbeams. Other times it disappears completely which for some reason cause unbelievably game-breaking lag.
