Highs of around 85 to 90, lows around 60 at night. Pretty humid too.
I would like to acclimate them to be outside, I just don't want to shock them since they are barely alive to begin with and I'm sure are still recovering from the abuse they took.

So should I start poking holes in the humidity tent and start putting them outside this week?
Do they prefer full shade, partial shade or full sun?

I would wait for a while before giving them full sun,and I definitely would not put them outside with the humidity tent on,they will get way too hot.

Like KGB1977 wait a little bit and place them outside without the humidity dome. Maybe they can go outside after another week or two of growth/acclimation as long as your temperature isn't over 95 F for more than an hour.
They need deep shade at first, but you can slowly acclimate them to a little more light. Full sun is a definite never. Partial sun is okay, but they don't really like it and if you let the soil get dry enough to droop they'll burn quickly. Shade with perhaps a touch of dappled sun is best. I have mine in deep shade right now since it's 95+ F for 4-5 hours each day.
I don't have any pest problems right now at all, but a couple of months ago the aphids seemed to be attracted to them. Keep an eye out for them as they multiply quickly.
You should start fertilizing at 1/4 or 1/2 strength once they go outside if you aren't already.

Thanks for the tips guys, I think I'll give them a bit of fert this week indoors, and poke some holes in the tent so they start getting used to lower humidity.
Then after I get a bit more growth I'll put em outside in full shade like you recommended. Thanks a bunch!

Well,..... Green is good. If the entire plant dies its possible the roots will spit out new life.

Out of curiousity, since I am far from a green thumb.
What type of fertilizer should I give my salvia?
Any generic "plant food"? Or is there something specific that this species performs well with?

Sure, I'll try to get some new ones up this weekend when I have time. The root half is doing very well, the top half seems to be struggling a bit.

Whatever you've done has worked very well. It seems the Salvia can be exposed to the harshest of conditions and still live. From the latest pics I saw you should have no problems. Soon enough you'll be able to take a cut and root it. Dont cut until you have a few nodes though. And let it grow a good foot at least. Anyhoo, Nice rescue!

You guys have inspired me. I'm going to take a couple more pics now. I'll post them up shortly.

Ok here we go.
First two pics are the rooted half of the original plant. Last one is the top half.

The rooted half as you can see is doing much better. So I should let it grow to a foot before I take any cuttings? Cause this thing is small right now. I'd say around only 4 inches.
Also, I'm a complete noob at this sort of thing. Anyone have any good guides on taking cuttings and rooting? I know the rooting part is pretty simple as I've read you can just stick the tip in plain water and it will eventually root. Just looking for more information on where to cut, how to cut, when to cut, etc.
Thanks guys, I never thought these guys would make it. And I think that it will never fully recover to be a prolific grower, but at the least I would like to get some cuttings off it so that I can grow a solid mother.

theres some really good vids on youtube about how to root and plant salvia cuttings
im so glad i found your thread btw, you know how my first post in this thread said that my salvia had died, well it was down to just a bit of stem so i had given up and just put it in the ground outside, and after seeing that your stem had grown new leaves i went back outside to check if there was any green left at all, and there was about 3 inches of goodness left! so i put it back in a pot and i have it in a humidity dome
unfortunatly i left it out for a few weeks and it had died down past the first node, it seems to be shooting roots out of the stem above the soil but idk if its going to be able to make new leaves after all its been through
i think ill start keeping photo documents of how it goes and if it lives ill make a thread for it
thanks for the the thread though, i really didnt think it would even be possible for it to live through that

It has been awhile so I figured I'd update this post.
I also have a question about the leaves curling up. As you'll see, especially in the last photo, the leaves are curling under. They've been like this for a few weeks now. I slowly acclimated them out of humidity tents over the course of about a month, and they were fine. I'd say they were out of the tents for a good 2 weeks before the leaves started curling like this.
So what gives? Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? They sit in a corner basically between two windows so I think they're getting ample light. I only water once the soil has dried out.
Anyways, without further a do...

It's hard to believe from the original post that these two plants came from...THAT haha. I even took a cutting a couple weeks ago and rooted it, just planted it in soil today. Hoping it will be my mother from here out.

It's them being tempermental; they will eventually loose all of their old leaves and grow new hardened off ones. It's normal; don't fret too much when they start turning brown and crispy.
