pan cyan question

I have a fully colonized jar with pan cyan mycelium on rye. Can I just case this like regular cubies? I know they need a very thin casing layer.
I don't have the time to get myself straw and shit and pastuerize it...

They fruit off agar, so id think that they would also fruit off cased rye - im trying grass seed at the moment as well.
