on forgivness
    #14561895 - 06/04/11 08:47 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

so right now in my life i have a few people left
and the past actions (to say what would add bias) of these people
would make most people mad and hurt

here is the question
is it possible in your eyes,to forgive a person when they continue to
do malicious actions

here is how i see it
its like trying to forgive a thief-when his hand is reaching for your wallet

im very curious what the pubs judges and philosophers think

thanks

why not just find new people? life is too short to waste on people who constantly disappoint/hurt you. in either case, life will be a lot better without them.

Yes, it's possible.

sometimes the best way to get over something is to forgive because it stress' you out.

Still if someones a jerk 9/10 even if you dont hang out with them they're going to be a jerk everytime you see them
people are like that

forgiveness to me means understanding. If i forgive someone for something, it doesn't mean I support what they did, it means I am understanding enough to understand why they did it.

I am very forgiving, but I never let my guard down

forgive, yet make their wrongs clear.

give them your insight and advice about what you believe is the problem. some disapproval may help initiate a desire to change, which is needed first. then step back and respect their right to change themselves.

i have recently been in a comparable situation- hanging out with people who act like leeches through draining and pessimism and conforming to certain opinions for the sake of gaining my approval while remaining narrowminded. i have stopped hanging out with these people while trying to make it clear to them why i can't be around (them), because when i hung out with them and tried to change them it had a reverse psychology type of reaction. Now that i've left, they're questioning themselves

I havent necessarily abandoned them, just made it clear that i dont support their attitude and that it doesnt have a positive effect on me.

but only they can change themselves, is what ive realized.

so i would say, what a wise treehouse man told me

love many
trust few
always paddle your own canoe
