Honeyville Rye/any good?

I recently purchased some Honeyville rye and it seems my spawn jars are crawling at best. I've noced up several jars in the same manner that I always have and some are crawling along super slow and others (from a different strain) are showing no signs of growth after 5 days from noc with a GLC.

IMHO, rye is rye as long as you sterilize: rhymes.
thas' what I always say.
The only differences in the jars are that they contain rye from different companies?

It doesn't specify organic or otherwise. I'm guessing it's not. The slow jars are maybe 15% at day 12 when they're usually 100% at day 10. I shook em this morning so we'll see. Kind of depressing!

Anti-fungal agents on the rye have little effect on growing mycelium. Spores on the other hand most likely won't germinate on the treated rye.
As for the variability in speed you are seeing from previous grows to this and even in between different "strains," none of this is comparable since you are using different mycelium cultures, your temperatures might not be the same, different moisture content of rye, etc.

I think I've narrowed it down to moisture content. The ones I noced 5 days ago are beginning to show some myc growing. Think I got some a little wet and the slow ones actually may be a little dry. I can't remember exactly where I got my last batch of rye from but there's a day and night difference in how clean it was and how well it prepped next to the Honeyville. I'll see if I can find the brand?
