I want to watch the fucking news and all that they play is this bullshit court case. There are so many more important and relevant things going on, but all anyone cares about is some little girl killed by her mom. It's this kind of immature bullshit that makes it so hard to relate to other humans on any deep level. Most of my interaction with people outside of my close friends is just a show, and i wish it didn't have to be that way.

I don't have TV, and am not aware of this court case, but let me guess..the little girl was white, wasn't she? If so, I'm not surprised that her story would dominate the news..nobody in this country would really give a shit if she was either black, Hispanic, or a Pacific Islander.

May you elaborate? What is so immature about news networks considering a story about a murdered little girl to be a higher priority than any other story?

What gives you the impression that it has to be that way?

It's immature because people die every day in horrible ways. People then pick out this one story and pretend to care about this little girl so much.
As to your last question, i guess it may just be my place in life. If i say something intelligent or at all deep, all i get is wierd looks. I'm looked down upon for not being shallow. If people find out I'm a moral relativist, all they can say is how "fucked up" i am. I have to hide my true thoughts and feelings from everyone because my ideas sit so far from the mainstream, and trying to explain myself just digs me into a deeper social hole. I've always had this basic understanding of my situation, so i just constantly put on a successful show. It's a pain in the ass that adds to my consistent depression.

Well every horrible death cannot be reported on in the news..what makes you assume that people are merely pretending to care about this little girl so much? I mean, what if, God forbid, they actually do care about her as much as they seem like they do?
I still don't understand what about this seems immature to you..is it that the news is prioritizing one story above all others, or is it the nature of this particular story and the apparent obsession people have with it that you find immature?

So, pretty much, you wish you could relate better to people you can't relate to? You don't have to put up a "show" for people other than your close friends, although I understand that it may be preferable..why are you so averse to putting up a show, anyways? Does every word that comes out of your mouth have to be about deep philosophical concepts?

And you know this from experience?

I don't know about you, but I've learned how to have fun with putting up a show..it can be quite relieving at times IME to not think about deep philosophical concepts.
Perhaps, it's not only the show that adds to your consistent depression, but also your tendency to wallow in depressing, deep philosophical concepts? Perhaps it's not even the show at all, but rather, merely your philosophical world-view.

I'm on my phone right now so it will take too long to respond to all of that, and this thread is nothing more than an emotion based, poorly thought out, rant on my part. A mod can delete it if they want. Perhaps i should be more careful about my posting when i'm fucked up.

Aww fuck em dude. Not that I haven't been there. Allowing the external to influence the internal is a fools game...one I still play but I am getting much better at simply watching from the sidelines.
Anyway, it's nice to see a behind the scenes featurette with you. Your walls are usually oh so very very high.
