Is it time to fruit these tubs? Noob
    #14559538 - 06/04/11 10:48 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

This is PE originally a WBS MS then
On May 17 G2G WBS to Rye
On May 28 spawn to mini Mono tub with 3 quarts spawn to 5 quarts coir/verm/gypsum.  As you can see, the surface colonized in no time (now 7 days) with really fluffy myc.

It colonized in an open trash bag in a closet at about 80F (I have since moved it to my basement where it is cooler). A few holes are covered with micropore tape.

This next one is an A strain MS
May 1 did a G2G (Rye to Rye)
May 19 spawned to Coir/verm/gypsum.  I believe is was 4 quarts of spawn.  Also in a bag in a closet at the higher temp and now moved.

CONFESSION:  I peek too much.  Can't help myself.  I'll do three hail Marie's and won't look no more.

This one has even but weak colonization at the surface.

Both have been returned to their bags.  I'm lost as to what to do, and just lost a mini to contam with no fruiting.  I'm about to go back to PF tek as I am fruitless (and shroomless).

Thanks for your time and advice.

Patience is the best prescription. Allow the tub with uncolonized patches to cover over fully and then wait a week or two before introducing fruiting conditions. If the bottom tub has had the surface colonized for about a week or two, then it is time to start fruiting.

Changing your mind is one of the best ways of finding out whether or not you still have one.

:whathesaid:

youre on the safest site, if you wait for the tub to show knotting respectively the first pins;

then introduce fruiting conditions.
