 People Scared of Bugs

When I was a kid I was the one who turned over logs and looked for awesome bugs I've never seen before. Now, say if a spider drops down on a web in front of me - I'll just grab the web and throw him away. No harm no foul. He didn't hurt me, I'm cool with him but due to the fact he is impeding my personal bubble I gave him a free sky dive.
Some people are so terrified, though. Any bug is scary to them, from a daddy longlegger to a rolly poly. Like a moth bumps their head and they freak out with their arms flailing in all directions. I wonder why that is. Perhaps it is a trait passed on from parents? A social norm? Exposure? Bugs are pretty fucking weird, too, don't get me wrong. I mean I can't blame people for not liking them. Could you imagine if they were as big as, say, elephants? Motherfucking spiders as big as elephants. A spider rips off a human's arm and the human is just writhing in absolute physical pain on the ground in a pool of their own blood. We'd shoot their leg off they'd still fuckin keep going; afterall they do have 7 more, and fangs.
TL;DR: Bugs don't bother me but they bother some people and that is okay I guess but I wonder why; If spiders were as big as elephants we'd all be fucked.

people hate bugs because they associate them with a lack of hygiene. If you got bugs in your house your a slob. Slobs are nasty, therefore bugs are nasty.
I don't really mind a small bug. Big bugs creep me out...

Yeah I'm perfectly content in the opposite direction of wasps and horse flies. Especially wasps, fuck wasps. They don't even make honey they just sting you.

i hate mosquitos. but i let the daddy long legs live. and one time i stomped a wolf spider 50 babys went darting out in all directions!!! i hate to get expanding bubble cleaner foam shit

I like bugs. I'll usually only kill mosquitos if they're bitting me.
Other than that I think bugs are interesting.
I find it hard to understand the fear of reptiles, such beautiful animals.
I just feel pretty disgusted by larvae, of course I don't fear them that would be stupid. Last week I was at this coffee shop drinking some beers and eating some peanuts and found a larva on them after almos eating a plate of them, GROSS MAN!

Yeah, things sucking my blood get an automatic death sentence with prejudice. I've always loved reptiles, too. Amazing animals, I've had the pleasure of keeping several kinds

I dont like bugs. They are creepy crawly little fucks.
Reptiles, on the other hand, are some of the coolest animals around.

I've worked at a few major pet stores that sell various types of millipedes,scorpions, tarantulas (bird-eating goliaths, rose-hair, pink-toes), and hissing cockroaches to name a few of the weird things and I definitely don't enjoy showing them to people or getting them out. At the same time I don't have the usual hidden urge to stamp them out with my foot or a can of hairspray and a lighter.
I've seen crazy responses from people just looking at the tarantulas while they're still sealed up in their habitat with thick glass between them and they can't even bring themselves to look. Of course I've gotten the same responses from reptiles of all kinds.
I don't kill any insects until they start impeding on my life in a negative way. That is, a bunch of ants storming a kitchen, spiders crawling into my bed, etc. If they're outside or out of the way and doing their best to stay alive I could care less.

I work outside so I am always keeping an eye to the sky for fucking wasps, horse flies, hornets, etc.

I got a facefull of this fucker's web a few days ago:
That scared this shit outta me. It's about 3 inches long. I just felt the web in my face, and then noticed it noticing me and hauled ass. I'm not fond of being bitten by something that could potentially kill me. But I'm not the kind of person who's afraid of it when it's web isn't in contact with my face. I went back to take a picture and put it on the Shroomery. Turns out it's non lethal, and the bite generally goes away in 24 hours. It's probably still chillin' out back there.
I'm not particularly afraid of any bug, though I don't enjoy being bitten or stung by anything. And I will avoid it if possible.

I fuckin' LOVE reptiles. All of them.
I've also had a similar experience with larvae. I was in high school, and bit into an apple I got from school lunch. It had larvae in it. They were in my mouth and everything.

I don't mind most insects, but beetles creep me the fuck out.
Especially the fat ones that can take flight.

Stink bugs are little fuckers I have no sympathy for. They get in to any little space, smell bad and invaded from China in the 80's.
When I was a kid I brutally tortured earwigs for unknown reasons.

Depends on how you wanna look at it.
Informally, bugs are any kind of non-marine arthropod.
If you want to be specific, not all insects are bugs. Formally, bugs are only insects in the order Hemiptera.

I don't mind bugs. I HATE wasps, yellow jackets, ticks, fleas and moisquitos. They're evil beings.
I let the spiders in my house live. I have one (or many) in almost every room of my house. I have very few other bugs as a result. The babies also help keep my house plants clean. I also have ladybugs in my house which also keep bug infestations down on my orchids.
I like bugs, they don't bother me.
I dislike people who dislike bees. Thats a pet peeve of mine, fucking ignorant dumb fucks.

I hate spiders, fleas, mosquitoes, but thats about it. I never smash bugs in nature, but if they start fuckin with me inside my house...prepare to meet the heel of my shoe
