What would I have to do to get a successful outdoor grow in Arizona, where it is exceptionally dry?

make a special "outdoor" terrarium that cools and humidifies the air.
the climate in arizona is too hot and dry for cubensis. you cannot grow outdoors in AZ.

for pins to form, relative humidity should must be at least above around 80% and temps no higher than 85 degrees F. you know the weather where you live. does it sound like that would work?

doser seems to know more about this than i do. it sounds like a long shot to me, but give it a try if you'd like. good luck. i've been in arizona before, and it to me, it doesn't seem like the sort of place mushrooms will grow. growing cubensis outside is really only practical for those of us who live in the southeast, where it can be very easy and hassle-free to grow outdoors. in arizona, it's gonna be alot easier to grow indoors. why do you want to grow outdoors?

I actualy tried this a couple times with no luck. Of course I never tried building a humidity tent for it, just tried to keep the bed a little damp. It did end up drying out though, AZ soil sucks up a LOT of water. Realy hard to keep the water content high enough without swamping it. Maybe a plastic liner would help, dunno. I think the humidity is the major set back because we have a couple times a year a pretty good temp range. What inspired it was the popping up of toadstools and inky caps after one of those two week rain spells we get here on occasion. I guess if you could get it timed just right at the beginning of a rain cycle you might have a chance. Assuming it didn't putz out after two days.
Also, I used to work at a company that took care of lakes and ponds. There was a mansion out in mesa that we took care of. Had a BIG lake, lots of streams running everywhere and of course much grass and a sprinkler system. One time I found something growing by the lake that with the help of an id guide, I decided most resembled p.stuntzii. Only a few here and there, late august I think. Of course being that nothing hallucinogenic was supposed to grow around there and I had no experience id'ing mushrooms, I didn't eat it, it could have been anything. But the growing conditions were damn near right for cubensis. It was crazy humid around that lake and everything was covered with shade from trees, pretty damn nice for the middle of the metro phoenix area.
Anyway, I'd guess its probably very possible. It's going to be tough though if you try.
