Hey all,
well I'm concerned about my eye vision.
For about a year and a half this has been going on. Small items, like the size of grains of sand or rice, appear to move. The outline of the object appears to constantly shift around. I think it's an insect moving at first. Sometimes the object looks like it's crawling. Sometimes the tiny grain appears to hop. When it hops, it hops only once.
Another thing: When I pretend to squish a far sighted object with my index finger and thumb, the edges of the object will appear to squish into intself. In this way the object appears to change its form very noticeably to my vision. Another way to describe it is, the object looks like a spunge being pushed down. Someone told me the squishy objects might be because I need glasses.
I found results in Google like "snow vision", and some of the things I see in my visual field resemble snow vision but the grain sized objects moving like insects is wtf, and so is the squishy objects.
The first symptom I mentioned here... well I THINK I notice it more when it's humid outside or has been raining outside.
Also I THINK my cat experienced this phenomenon too when I had her in my care. When this vision first started, my cat would also look at the floor (and air) and follow an invisible something with her eyes.
I noticed the symptom more when it first started the year and a half ago, for the first six months. The grain pattern on the wood floor and the texture on the carpet would appear to move around, but it hardly does now. And this is when my cat would also look at something at the floor and in the air. But indivual grains still appear to move like insects, not all the time, but in instances.
An idea I have of the cause is this: I lived in an apartment building when the vision started, and across from my apartment was the hall and another apartment. The maintenance crew covered that apartment's floor with varnish, and the hall smelt (smelled?) strongly of it for days. My bachelor was filled with the fume all night whilst I was asleep and so I didn't notice how strong the smell was to me until the next day. Could this have caused damage to me and my cat?
I can't go to a doctor at the moment...
Do you have any ideas of what this might be?
Oh yeah the squishiness of objects seems to be intensifying. It seems they squish into themselves more than when it first started.
And twice in the year and a half, when I shaked my whole body at the same time, a near object would appear to jiggle the exact same way with my body. Once was a garbage bag and the other time was a curtain.
Hope this post helps,
R

I don't mean to be rude but if anyone's gonna give you advice I think this should be ruled out first:
Are you on any drugs whatsoever. Do you have any history of mental illness?
How much does this symptom affect your daily life?
I tend to think you are just overanalyzing tiny imperfections in your cornea or the way you brain processes information but if it is disruptive to your life, I would see an optometrist ASAP since many eye problems are degenerative.
I can see all sorts of wierd things in my vision if the lighting is right that seem like tiny pieces of dust stuck to my eye, and when I stare into a clear blue sky I see all these dots flying all over the place in every direction.
