Ganoderma aka reishi??

Hey peeps, I just wanted to double check with everyone that these are it!
It is my understanding that there are no known poisonous polypores! Yet, double/triple check is better than a novice mistake.
Found these mushrooms, Habitat: Wood - Found in deciduous woods, growing straight from a dead tree stump & roots.
Gills: No gills
Stem: brown & rusty in color.
Cap: rusty/orange to white on the outer rim.
Spore print color: unknown.
Bruising: slight brown bruising when cut through specimen.
Location: Picked in north eastern USA, Massachusetts
I want to say these are Ganoderma lucidum from these pictures, but I am not sure:

Once I get confirmation from more knowledgeable members, My big question is: how do you prepare them?
My understanding thru some quick internet search is the following: 1) slice them 2)let them simmer for 2-3 hours 3) drink the leftover water
BUT, how much specimen per water do you need? I grabbed the 3 in the pictures and figured I could try to slice them thin and let them simmer in a medium size pot for 2hrs and see how much water I'm left with...
any suggestions/recommendations?
I'm trying to make a tea and rip their' anticancer properties if you hadn't noticed

They are reishi. I see a lot of hardwood leaves and its rotting from the inside out so i assume its hardwood?

any tips on preparation when they are fresh (as opposed to dry?)??
found this but it seems quite a lengthy process:
"From fresh Reishi Musroom:
Take one Reishi mushroom and soak overnight.
If the hard husk is covered with a powder, do not wash it off as this has strong healing properties. Because of the hard husk, you need to soak the mushroom to soften it.
Alternatively, you can put the mushroom in a pot and simmer it for four to six hours.
Do not use an aluminum pan to soak, boil, or simmer the mushroom. Do not boil the fresh mushroom at this step. Simmer only.
After the mushroom has simmered for over four hours, cool, then cut into small pieces. Add the pieces to two quarts of water and slow boil for one or two hours. Use a lid while boiling.
When the tea is ready add honey or sweet fruit juice to taste.
This one pot of tea should last five days and must be stored in the refrigerator. Leave mushroom pieces in the tea to consume. Start with one tablespoon of the tea a day to test for allergic reactions. Add more until you are drinking an ounce or two each morning and night."

Beautiful finds. G. applanatum and G. tsugae grow on hemlock but i believe ive found G. lucidium on other hardwoods.
There are 2 forms of solubility you want for best extraction. some of the compounds are water soluble, some of the other compounds are alcohol soluble. these are the best ways taught by many great herbalists.
i would suggest (sorry if its more complicated than what you had in mind)...
1. cut them up fine and soak them in alcohol (everclear) over night.
2. strain that through a cheese cloth, put the extracted alcohol aside
3. take the reishi and pour enough water to make it 50/50 with the alcohol (which you will blend later)
4. simmer the water on medium (decoct) for about 2-6 hours depending on how strong you want the medicine.
5. after you are complete strain the mushrooms again through cheese cloth and add both liquids. the fact that you kept the alcohol content at 50% (if you used everclear) means you have an extracted tincture that will last a long time (years)... you can bottle it up and take a dropper or 2 for the most potent dose.
in joy.
if its too complicated you can just do the boiling part and do step 4 but the shelf life is limited to a few days.
