my first hunt

hey  i was walking today in my lawn and noticed many different species of shooms. im no expert but i think one might b a wavy cap. if someone could help me out and tell me what categories i need to pay attention to like gills, stem, cap. also if i get some pictures and spore prints will it help my identification process? this is my first attempt at hunting and i want to make sure i don't screw up in any way cuz from what i understand that could b deadly

Wavy caps do not grow in your area this time of year.  I would not expect them in your area even in December, but it is possible.


Pay attention to the gills, stem, substrate, spore size and shape, cheilocystidia, pleurocystidia, pileipellis, odor, taste, staining reactions and cap.

ok ill take a few specimens and seperate what ones i have and take prints and pictures. its been raining the past month and it about 70 degrees today if that help any with my climate
