>90% colonized!

So, my friend's jars (2 oz) are over 90% colonized -- that is, some are completely covered in white, some have a little patch at the bottom that isn't colonized yet.
Now, he's going to birth and dunk after they start knotting. The questions that come to mind are...
... after the best flush, can the cakes be broken up and used as spawn for a casing? ... thinking ahead, once they're cased and the flushes start declining, how the hell do you dunk a casing?!
For easy access, here are the specifics about this grow: - B+ strain - 4 oz jars (1/4 pint) - 90-100% colonization - not incubated - no contaminants sighted - 1/2 verm, 1/4 BRF, 1/4 water substrate - used PF tek

leave them as cakes. make sure to let them consolidate for at least 1 week after full colonization.
don't crumble & spawn to bulk after a first flush.
cakes should stay as is & grains should be spawned to bulk.

Thanks for the quick answer!
I'm asking because I think it's wasteful to just throw the cakes away when they're spent. Granted that they're not as effective as spawn, is there a way that this can work? Or can something else be done to get some more out of them?

1. BRF per weight produces more than grains spawned to bulk.
2. put them in your garden. They'll fruit outside & give you terrific substrate+nutrients for you vegetables/fruits.
3. You should be able to get 3 decent flushes off of a BRF cake Vs. 1 good flush of a coir tub + 1 weak second flush. (it's all math, brotha...)
