Was wondering about these two bulbs because that i have, and they still work. http://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1631&pos=14&pid=53738
http://www.amazon.com/Coralife-7100K-Actinic-Fluorescent-Light/dp/B001F992EA
There is another bulb i have with a working fixture, this fixture has a 6500k temp, and is a daylight bulb.
Im a little ways from Fruiting time but it wont be long, so i was hoping you kind fellas could take a gander at those other two bulbs (since they supposedly put out more blue spectrum).

For me, best light is actual indirect sunlight.

Would that 7100k bulb i posted the link to be bad idea? it puts out blue spectrum for the most part and is for aquariums/aquatic plant life.

6500K for mushrooms, 7100K for aquariums. Mushrooms don't want blue light. They want light in the 'blue' spectrum, which isn't at all the same thing. RR

I bet the 7100 puts out a fair amount in the 6500 range. It would probably work. I'd think a nice cheap CFL in the 6500 range could work better though.

Thanks for correcting me bro i was about to ditch that lighting and keep my 6500k, hook it on the timer when the time comes, and set it for 11/13 or 12/12.That and i have a small touch light i was thinking about using along with it. Not sure tho, thanks so much for the input guys!

would it be a bad idea to elevate the 7100k light above the 6500k and run it for a just a mere 2 hours along with the 6500k??? I read up on that bulb it puts out 'blue' spectrum quite well.

Lighting is the least of your worries. Don't bother. You won't get any improvement beyond the basic requirements.
Put all your effort into maintaining proper humidity and fresh air exchange at this point. That's the hardest and most important part. Lighting is easy.

This part I agree with.

This not exactly..basic requirements are very little. Not even a 6500 k bulb. Just a few minutes a day. I have seen drastic improvement in my greenhouses by adding more light, over each shelf to deal with shaddows. If you have the light, and everything else is good, why not add it? It cant hurt, and it may improve things.

Well to me you just described the basic requirements. I guess basic is a bad word as it implies minimal.
I'm just saying that once you get your 6500k going at the right distance and 12/12 setting...there's nothing more to be done. Whereas with air and humidity I find myself constantly fiddling.

Yeah i can tell that will be trial and error that ill wanna tinker with while my cakes are a few days away from my first dunk, just to have it all prepared. Im just going to do two SGFC with perlite. I have a cool mist and a good humidifier but i figure i could just do a poor mans pod or something more simple, seeing as i DO want to utilize my three air pumps and my air stones.
