Well I just did an upper body workout in the weightroom.
I did some strength reps for bench, lat pulldown, and bent over rows.
After that I did kipping pullups. I am still working on my kipping pullups. I have not perfected the form but I can definatly tell that I am going to enjoy this movement.
Lastly I did 100 rows at 50 pounds. I was going to do 100 rows for time but I didnt realize there was not clock in the room.
Next time I do legs I am going to do 100 overhead squats for time.
You know what would be really cool? If we all timed ourselves doing 100 overhead squats and then reported back with our times. I think I am going to try 95 lbs.

Overhead squats are definitely a Kim in the ass that's for sure. Doing them for time would definitely be killer! I'd be down to post my times though for sure.

Nice work brother, I love seeing people improvise with what they do or don't have. Reminds me of the ghetto workout thing haha "hillbilly workout"
ha, you should make a tutorial vid and put it on youtube. "once I dun' fucked my sister, which is great for abs, I bench press her o'er mah head a few tahms, which is great fo' mah chist" haha, jk
anyway
This is my brother doing tyreflipping,:
A mate of mine at work has also started doing this, for times when he can't get off the ship to go to the gym. He runs the tire up and down the deck, on each lap he stops and hits it with a sledgehammer a bunch of times.
Also, try atlas walks (careful with that shit though)
he does a lot of improvising as well, he fills a backpack up with rocks, runs to the top of a local mountain then deadlifts boulders, then runs back down again

Sounds good to me, haven't worked with a barbell in awhile but I am definitely up for the challenge. 95lbs sounds good to me, I will probably get around to it on Wednesday as well since tomorrow will be my rest day.

So I was thinking about buying some of those gymnastic rings.
The ones where you hang from two loops, do a pullup, and then proceed to finish by executing a dip. They call that lift a muscle up I believe.
I really like body weight exercises. One thing I want to accomplish is being able to adequately pull my body weight up a rope or ledge, etc.. To me it seems like one of the most important things a human could do.
I really want to get the correct kind of climbing rope too. I was look at rope climbing techniques. There is one where you intertwine the rope with one leg and then pinch the rope between your leg and other foot. This looks like a neat technique.
Ultimately I want to be able to climb up and down a rope without any feet and without breaking a sweat. I can climb them now but its not so easy.

Have you never climbed a rope, or just looking to get better at it? Personally I love to climb, it's great exercise and really fun! Funny you mention the rings I actually have some, they are also really awesome and you can do a ton of stuff with them. I am crisply working on the iron cross right now, so tuff but I'm making progress day by day.

Oh thats cool. Do you do muscle ups? What all can you do with those rings and how do you install them?
I dont own a proper climbing rope and I havent done it in a while. The rope that I bought is too thin. I didnt realize what a climbing rope was until I had already bought the wrong kind from lowes. lol
What is the iron cross?

Here is a picture of the iron cross. It is challenging that's for sure.

You can mount them to anything that is sturdy enough to hold you, I have mine mounted up in my garage, have a stool I use as a booster to get myself up to them. I can do muscle ups, although they are definitely challenging; I have seen many people do them on a regular pull up bar as well. The rings take some getting used to since they require more stabilization.

So your saying you have seen people do muscle ups on a pullup bar? Thats cool. Did it look awkward or does it seem like it can be done with a natural range of motion.
That iron cross definitely looks tough. What do you do? Hang there or raise yourself up?
Hey I have a question for you, since you seem to be fitness oriented. Do you ever use creatine or have you ever used it? What is your opinion on it? I am thinking about starting a thread on it to see what people have to say.

Went to the gym today and did:
5 sets - bench press - 185lbs, 8 reps 3 sets - Ab cruncher machine thing - 150lbs, 12 reps 3 sets - Leg press - 360lbs - 10 reps (I planned on doing squats but a group of guys were hogging the squat cage and I didn't feel like waiting on them to finish) 5 sets - Pull up bar(pull-ups) - 10 reps(I weigh 195 lbs) 3 sets - Calf machine thing - 200lbs - 12 reps then about 30 reps at the end at 120lbs for a 4th set.
By then I was pretty tired so I decided to call it a day. I am pretty happy that I can almost bench my body weight for 8 reps, that was my goal about a year and a half ago when I was only benching about 135 for 8 reps. I can do 195, but only 5-6 reps if I really push it.
I really don't like using the machines there that often because they limit individual range of motion, but they aren't that bad. After using the ab machine I felt like my midsection was about to explode(in a good way).
I also only go to the gym maybe twice a week, so I really don't try to focus on muscle groups each time I go there like I would if I went say 5 times a week. I just do whatever I feel like, and it works pretty well
Probably gonna go on a long run tomorrow at this nature reserve that has miles and miles of trails in the woods.

Great job sole, sounds like you got after it! Good luck on the run tomorrow brother!
@XUL: Yah I have seen people do muscle ups on a regular pull up bar, they seem pretty natural to me, there is a bit of swinging involved to actually get up but I wouldn't say anymore then you would experience with the rings.
As far as the iron cross goes there are a bunch of variations you can do with it. Personally my goal is to be able to hold myself there as long as possible.
I am actuallyback and forth as far as creative goes. I have personally used it a lot and an attest to it working but you do retain a lot of water; if your looking for a little extra strength and maybe a better pump it's not bad. I personally have decided to go 100% natural meaning I only supplement using whole foods, absolutely no powders or pills so creatine hit the back burner. For me I am just looking for optimal health, and with that I hbe found I am able to save a good chunck of money in shops while feelin just as good as I did with them.
