I've still got some nice prints afrosheen. shoot me a if you can't find one.
crazy fruits indeed. I forgot to tape the bottom of my tub, so it just exploded on all sides. Had a blast watching it.

afrosheen said: An uneven substrate may cause pins to show up at different times but I have yet to see proof of that theory. Flat as a board or slightly lumpy, seems the same to me.
I'd pick the mature ones and let the others gain weight. Right when they pop the veil is generally considered harvest time.

And also, When I get flushes like that, uneven, I find one side may be getting more light then the other. Shaddows falling over the side that pinned second from the sunlight? Or is it right up against a white wall that maybe made it brighter on one side? Turning the tub everyday may even things out.

Even if its flat, if you're growing from a multispore you can still get uneven pinsets because of the wide range of genetics involved.

Awesome grow man! especially for your 1st tub. Your hard work learning how to grow the right way has paid off.
To answer your question about harvesting. I would put on latex gloves if you have them, if not just wash your hands with antibacterial soap, and go to the base of each mushroom and gently twist. They will come up easily and not leave any bruises.
Threads like this make me want to start growing again

Yeah, I read more for this hobby than I have all my years of going to school. Definitely liked the Maz more than B+.
After harvesting for an hour or two I ended up with around 750 grams wet!

Had no idea I had this many shrooms in there! Some of them are a little beat up had some trouble weighing em all and harvesting, but they should be fine right? I heard bruising my cause potency loss, but I don't understand how.

might be bacterial problems. I'm guessing its your pasteurization process that needs more attention. Is that myc piss? Never seen that in a grow, only in jars

Per RR:
They're called metabolites, not urine.
It's normal, since pasteurized manure contains bacteria and the mycelium reacts to it. If the droplets get too large, you can absorb them with the corner of a paper towel. End quote
I did not use manure so no - not myc piss.

Ahh kool. Didn't know that, I use hpoo and haven't seen that! Wonder why. Does seem like a very small pinset, maybe they're just premature ones and next flush will be larger. Fingers crossed

Bought a used food dehydrator, but it doesn't have a temperature gauge and my thermometer is reading right under 150 degrees. I think they will be fine, but the more I think about it the more it is starting to sketch me out. Have any of yall used the white oster with 5 racks?

I haven't used that particular one, but 150F is fine IMO. I think people get far too worried about heat. Plenty of consumers have boiled, cooked over open fire, and baked in ovens on pizza, etc...
no sketching out please
