So I'm a 28 year old female who wants to do something worth while with my life, and also travel. Can any pubbers give me some advice on which branch of the military to consider?

Do you find the reasons our armies fight to be worthwhile? If you do we are on two different levels, and I couldn't offer advice other than heed the wise words of Bill Hicks.
Maybe look into the Peace Corps or some other humanitarian group. I think they should bring back the Civilian Conservation Corps so there would be an alternative for those who lack direction but don't want to be part of the problem.

I feel the war is not over sees but in our own territory. The problems are in our own land. There are far more corrupt issues to work on.Adding which is unnecessary is not something I would condone. Here's a neat speech

Navy.
Air Force is great if you are an officer, but otherwise you're nobody. In the Navy, you really get to do thangs. Even females, which is less true in other branches.
Plus, let's face it- women's dress whites are are cute as can be.

do it girl.
are you fit? I am joining the navy and trying out for aviation rescue swimmer. Women can be rescue swimmers too. If you wanted something exciting you could do that.
I think the coast guard would be great too. Alot of their jobs look fun. They also have rescue swimmers.
sign up for the right job and you can get a bonus. Rescue swimmer is 15,000.

She's to old for the Air Force.
Go and take a Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test and see how you score, just don't sign anything unless you are willing to commit

the military is a wonderful vocation - but people do it because they need to, otherwise they wash out. there is a lot more to it than being a trigger puller. most people not combat arms serve their entire 20 without ever pulling a trigger or lining up on someone. as far as people who discredit the service, the military gets paid to give ignorant bastards a chance to say whatever they want without ending up castrated and dead or raped, as two recent high profile cases in the middle east have shown.
The time line that you have to do so is, however, limited. if you want to know more, just drop me a PM.

If you want to travel, join the navy and get a ship-based MOS (job). If you like the idea of being a brainwashed asstard, join the army or the Marines. If you want a highly technical job and not much exercise, join the Air Force. If you want to put out forest fires and help with natural disasters, join the Army National Guard.
This being said, I was in the Marines. I hated it and got out "Terminal Lance" and glad I did.
