Or is it just a side effect of testosterone (assuming it was 'originally intended' to aid in the hunt) that men are in general more power-hungry than women, and therefore more or less automatically start to organize social systems so that they can appropriate and exercise power?

Well, men definitely love power more. Even with the thousands of years of evolution, there are still millions of example today that men want to control shit.
Testosterone: Because killing each other for power matters.

A side effect? I doubt it would just happen as a secondary and unwanted result; it became useful for the survival of the species and that is why it has the effects it does; if it did not aid us.. it would likely fade away or be rare as the other people who did not, or had less of 'power-hungry' effect would have an equal or greater advantage of survival... after all they could put their limited resources towards something more productive in aiding the fitness of their offspring...
Caring? We could use a little less; all the worlds problems are caused from "caring" about one another's safety and health... though I am sure the DEA and our loving nanny state who cares about us so much and wants to protect us from ourself would disagree...

natural leadership? testosterone? sorry - that doesn't fly. leadership is not a function of a jar. if that were the case, a syringe could cure all leadership problems in the world. leadership is the function of indivual experience as learned from a societal model through your ability to interact with the society on the level in which you were introduced to it. got nothing to do with sex, but sex has everything to do with society.

Good point, I think I have to agree. The only loophole is the possibility that our testosterone-fueled power hunger comes at no cost, and is therefore not necessary to disappear through evolution. But that seems like a very hypothetical possibility indeed.

women are too emotional.
I can't imagine a global policy like mutually-assured destruction working. Some US leader would get mad at an Iranian leader for wearing the same dress to a summit meeting, and we'd nuke their asses. Then China and Russia would step in to try to calm us down, but we'd nuke them too because can't nobody tell her shit right now.

Agreed - plus if it does alter our personality as we think it does... causing us to be more power hungry.. that would be nearly impossible for that to not alter our survival rate and not cost us anything.. I guess? Its kind of tricky to verbalise that thought.

Yeah I see what you mean. Power hunger will at some point and in some way consume resources. If it would have been detrimental to the species, it would therefore have disappeared. But consider the possibility that it is in the process of disappearing right now. Evolution is a continuing process, and by no means 'complete'. Plus, shrooms make you gay.

I like that picture actually, of equal sexes. As long as women get to keep their titties and v-jays, that is.

All parliaments and congresses as well as presidents should be over the top fabulous gay males and no nonsense dikes
The world would be a better place. People would bitch about it but it would be better overall.
A lot of policies need the limpwristed "Ohhhh-hh-hh-hh pahleeeeze!" downvote they would provide.

I would be cool to actually see an alternate reality of our world compared to one where women lead most civilization.
I'm pretty sure that the problems we have now would be solved on the female side, but problem we already solved wouldn't be on their side.
World hunger would be gone, but the world would be less advanced or somethign like that...

Just remember that some women can be a bitch in a way a man is generally incapable of. Men who hate someone can be rude, women who hate someone stone cold.
For a reductionem ad nazii..
How would a really hateful woman have done the holocaust? Think about that one.
Women in power is no magic cure. All the population should be able to vote on all government issues, we should have a console for that in every neighborhood, and each person should get for this a basic income thats very tight but which one can live off if one had to, if one demonstrates to put actual work in getting aquianted with thje issues to vote on. As a consequencem, welfare etc can disappear, as we all get a second income source.
Theres enough wealth to do this if we redistribute it.
