Is there any adverse effects to mushrooms?

By this I don't mean that you could die or anything, just long / short term effects from continued use. You know all the debate around marijuana that it effects short term / long term memory and effects your brain function etc.
Whether it is true or not, the only thing I have really noticed ever since I started smoking pot is that I sometimes can't think of a complex word I might want to add to an English assignment or paper at the time that I would have otherwise thought would easily have popped into my head. That's about it, from what I've noticed, whether it is the weed or not I'm not sure. I only smoke 1 or 2 time a week.
Anyway... so yeah. Do Mushrooms have any effects like this? If I was to use them once a week / fortnight?
I read up on them when I first started using them, but there wasn't really anything about short / long term effects like there is a lot for weed.
Thanks.

If you have problems before you trip on shrooms or LSD (like schizo, PTSD, etc) Then yes. You can undergo physcosis if you are not ready for the trip. However most of the studies with LSD the subjects were given LSD without being told. Therefore they didn't know what was happening and thought they were going insane. If you are a frequent weed smoker, you'll probably be ok to take a low dose of shrooms. If you do decide to take em, fill your head with good vibes and dont even consider the possibility of a bad trip. Be around people you wanna be around. And finish all the shit you have to do before you dose. Happy Tripping!

Yeah I've heard about all that, that it can trigger dormant psychological problems. I don't have any nor is there a family history of any.
I have tripped on mushrooms multiple times and smoked quite a bit of pot. Nothing bad in terms of psychological problems.
I'm more wondering about effects from continued use. Like weed apparently slows brain function / memory. Do Mushrooms have any of these types of effects or other effects?

continued use of mushrooms once per week does change your psyche it is difficult for me to explain well but it is nothing to worry about and not necessarily noticeable

Ya There is HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder) and what people call "flashbacks". Both are very rare and come from only very frequent use. I don't want this thread to become one of those HPPD vs. Flashback threads, but they're different. HPPD is seeing stuff for a few minuted or seconds (patterns colors, most people report CEVs rather than OEVs), and a Flashback is what it is. It's a flashback from a bad trip in the past and you're "living" the bad trip again. But again both are pretty rare and some people think they have HPPD or flashbacks, but really since after they expierenced a phycidellic they percieve things diffferntly. Just my 2 cents

So you can't try to explain it at all?

If this is the only thing that marijuana has done for you, then I think its safe to assume that moderate doses of mushrooms won't have much of an effect either.

I wouldn't really call it HPPD except in extreme cases. Mostly it's just a bit of static, or more of those "floaters". Not really hallucinations, more like visual changes that fade over time.

Highroad psychedelics extend the duration of brain signals thus when you trip thoughts persist everything you experience does - visual (tracers) and sound too
this kind of persisting persists so after some frequent trips you may notice an overall difference compared to before your frequent tripping in any case the change is gradual and is not necessarily bad for you you might prefer it
keep in mind you can always choose to reduce frequency of your trips if it gets too much
