Monotub lid not airtight?
    #14554112 - 06/03/11 02:33 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Went out and bought a 111 litre tote today for 18 dollars. Trouble is i don't think the lid is airtight, its a little loose on the sides. is this sufficient enough to make into a monotub or should i be looking for a tote with an airtight seal?

thanks

Nope a little gas exchange is still necessary for the substrate. Should be fine.

Nah, not really necessary for the lids. Definitely take the lid looseness into account when monitoring RH and it can only help to have a little GE. By the way, spores dont have feet so if there is no significant turbulence in the surrounding air, no contams SHOULD be able to climb that ridge.
