brf spawn to bulk questions

Hey, I just want to make sure I have the right idea on some final things before I proceed on my second grow (first was standard sgfc video tek)
I am going to spawn brf cakes to coir following damion's 50/50 tek. I also plan to use a 50/50 casing of verm and peat moss on top/bottom.
As I understand it, there is no need to mess around with perlite in this, correct? The heat of the substrate will be sufficient to maintain rh?
Do I need to let the mycelium consolidate in the 1/2 pint jars before using them as spawn, or is 100% colonization the only thing I need before I'm good to go?
What's an appropriate ratio of spawn to bulk? I've got 9 1/2 pint jars about ready to go, and I'd like to get the most yield out of them without compromising success of the grow. (They should finish right in time for a camping trip, and if they fail it would be quite sad)
Finally, given the relatively simple procedure I plan to use, are there any simple additions I can make to boost quality or yield without increasing risk?

No, you do not need to let them consolidate. They need to be 100% though.
Usually you want a 1:3 ratio, spawn:sub. If you are doing a mono tub, you
will need no perlite. But when you put it in fruiting conditions you want
to uncover the holes in your tub, and fill them with poly fill. Mist and
fan.

also there is absolutely no need for a casing layer to be on the bottom. That can lead to contams. Remember that a casing layer is there to provide extra humidity to the surface of the mycelium. Not to mention, a lot of people (including myself) believe that a casing layer is not needed when working with cubes.
