I will be going to a friends house for a bbq this saturday and he owns 5 acres with like six horses. I have been iching to get access to a horse field and now's my chance to find some panaeolus cinctulus or stunzi's. I'm a noob so I will take some pics if I find anything for identification. Its been raining here for a couple of solid days and the temp's have been about 15-18 deg celsius during the day. I feel like my time is coming!

How do you tell these apart from the cinctulus?

That picture is labeled Panaeolina foenisecii, but it could easily be Panaeolus cinctulus.
Check the spore print color or spore ornamentation.

In the book psilocybin mushrooms of the world. It says that panfoes are not active to weakly active. So what would be the harm in eating them anyway. I was thinking about making tea with a couple of pan. foes and pan. cinc. I figured fuck it, why not. Its not like pan foes are harmful to you at all.

what would you get out of that? the only reason one would want to ingest foes is from the stand point of " lets see if they are actually active in my area " because thats the real unclear thing here, although i think they are not active myself . mixxing them would be pointless imo .

All members of Panaeolus, and probably Panaeolina foenisecii contain interesting tryptamines which modify the psilocybin experience. Mixing them would be an extremely interesting experiment.

Couldn't you condense a mountain of cincs and foes into a small amount of tea?

Go for it, in the name of science!
I guess the taste will condense accordingly, though...

I found my first cinctulus of the season yesterday, the weather is finally warm enough for fruiting. Unfortunatly for you i'm on the other side of the mountains though.
