New to the hunt
    #14549796 - 06/02/11 07:37 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Im new to the whole mushroom season. Found what i believe to be Psilocybe subaeruginosa, im in outer eastern Melbourne, yarra ranges. I asked an experienced friend and he said they might be.

Photo is very bad sorry.

They were found on a roundabout near a eucalypt tree.
Purplish/Smokey grey gills.
White stem, about 2-3cm thick(From memory.)
The caps are a latte brown about 5-7cm wide they are darker in the center, and appear to have bruising on them, Concave.
Do not have a spore print colour sorry :frown:
Its smells bad, pretty acrid like mushrooms taste.

I broke the first rule and ate a quarter of one, nothing happened.

Thanks in advance guys.

I digress, bad news. I always forget O. nidiformis, it doesn't grow in the US:sad:I suck, get ready for the belly-ache

Not Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Are you able to take a spore print to see the colour?
