initiate pinning now ?

a friend has b + with rye cased in bloo poo for 6 days at 84 deg. he can see myc. poking through the top about 10- 15 % of casing layer. is this the right time to set in fruiting chamber? it says in casing faq not to let myc. cover casing layer . any input would be appreciated.

it is too much .cover the poking myc. with some casing material.this will cause much effort in your other flushes.

can he case with sterilized verm ? how many times should he patch ? when should he take out to pinninig ?

I reread you post.

Bluepoo is NOT a casing, it?s a substrate.
You should have mixed the colonized grain with it and let colonize completely.

Wait until it?s 100% colonized, THEN cover with a casing material(50/50+ or similar)

thanks for the info . 40 verm/40 peat moss /15 crushed oyster shell / 5 calcium carb. will do that next time. post how it does like it is. should he mix 50/50 rye to poo?

I like a 1:4 ratio,just because I like seeing it fully colonized in a day or two
