why is my guitar such a HOE

Since I have been letting my step brother use my guitar it has been making a weird sound. The high E string makes a twang sound when you pluck it open. And also when you hit a note on the high E string around the 7th or 8th fret, the note sounds wrong, kind of unharmonious or essentially out of tune.
What could be wrong? How can I fix it?

Maybe he fucked up the tension?

Called fret buzz, neck could be slightly warped or if you have a cheap guitar you could need a fret job

One of the frets 7/8 might need to be shaved down,or one of them might even have a dent in them.
Inspect the particular frets.
I have to drop 260e to get a pick up put in mine and to get a hole fixed

eh. I have a 1975 spanish garcia. Or so it seems. Apparently somone made a bunch of rip offs back in the day. Its still a good classical guitar but I think I am due for an entirely new guitar.
A fresh accoustic. What kind of brand can I get that will last me without much repair? Oh and that sounds great too!

Swap out the high E string. See if that fixes it. If it didn't buzz before and is now buzzing at the nut, I bet a hew string will fix it. If not, the slot needs to be angled back towards the headstock a bit.
If I were to buy an acoustic, I'd get a Taylor.

Change the strings, clean the frets and fretboard, and tighten/clean all the hardware up. It can often be something simple.

Yeah as said it could be something simple like cleaning the frets or the action on the strings, take it to a guitar shop dude they'll sort it out with no problems

sometimes when you buy a guitar, and then put lighter strings on it, you need to loosen the truss rod a bit because the new strings pull on the neck with less force
