Tangich said: Thank you! Yes, this one pin looks like it could reach maturity, I really hope it does! And I must say, pins of this species are very pretty, and relatively large, cubensis sized kinda. This species could be a good candidate for domestication, but we'll see how it behaves later on.
Has anyone eaten any? If so, were they any good?
Awesome grow, Tangich! I love to see experiments and new things, on here.

Those are awesome! Great job on the grow! What's your fruiting chamber consist of? Are you in a gh?

The FC is a simple shotgun with perlite. I fan 3-6 times a day, spray once or twice, and thoroughly wet the perlite every couple of days. It works great that way.

Time for another update! They matured, gills are darkening, I'll probably harvest them and take prints in a few days. I don't know why the stipe is so bent, perhaps lighting's the cause, my bulb broke down and all they were getting was ambient light. Anyway, here are some pictures.
And some galindoi.

Enjoy!

Nice! Good job! When do you post the potency report?
I know it doesn't seem like an impressive amount of mushrooms, but for taking a wild species we know little about and being able to get something from it is pretty bad ass!

Thanks guys! Yeah, only 3 mushrooms for now, but a lot of new pins are starting to pop up! I think with some domestication this species could produce large flushes of beautiful mushrooms! This grow was just a blind shot anyway, I knew nothing about the species prior to this, other that it was found on a lawn in cold(er) weather. So I'm very happy with the results. Hell, I could be the first person to ever grow this species! Most likely not, but still... Unfortunately I doubt there will be a potency report from this grow, for one this probably isn't enough, and I don't really eat actives, but who knows...

Are you gonna attempt to clone one possibly? Those are a pretty mushroom. I attempted putting the print I got on agar and nothing happend, but that's normal for me
You could always have a buddy give them a shot, only don't tell them much about it so no placebo takes over. Once you harvest them can you post pictures of the bluing?

I don't think I'll clone them, I'm going away in less than 2 weeks and won't be around for the entire summer. But I think a few more spore generations are needed before cloning anyway. I'll take pictures of the bruising, certainly. I don't really hang around people who take psychedelics, and even if I gave them to someone, from what people tell me, a 'dose' around here is 1 - 1.5 g of cubensis. So if these were more potent, or even close to panaeolus, they could kick someone's ass! Perhaps I'll make a sacrifice in the name of science! These are pretty bulky, so if they are more potent than cubensis could even be worth growing for consumation.

That would be awesome! Has anyone researched the species for sure? I wonder if it's a new specie all together or just a different variety of cube. I've still got the wood-lover variety of those finds, the kkl06 I believe.

Oh, it's certainly not a cubensis! It's a new species, it was suspected to be P. pseudoaztecorum, I think now it's safe to say it's not that, either. It's most likely an undescribed species. The KKL07 failed to germinate on agar for me, I didn't experiment with it after that.

Those stems remind me of PE. Let us know how the potency turns out.
Take care,

Hey Tangich,
I took a look at the ATL7 photo and think that the caps might indicate that they are a tad dry. ...hydrophagous and all.
Anyway, they look beautiful. I got mad huge prints from ATL7. I hope that same for you.

Thanks everyone!
@Javadog - thanks, yeah they were a dry, it's getting harder and harder to maintain proper humidity at these temperatures. Yeah, your prints were crazy, none of mine is even close, I hope to get at least a few medium quality prints from this tray.
