Nj Id Request
    #14545691 - 06/01/11 01:16 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Found 50 yards from creek on side of slat of hardwood.
Pileus- 2cm. Conical.  Sienna buff
Gills-  Attached, crowded Cinnamin-white
Stipe- 4cm. Pith at base otherwise hollow.  Fragile smooth white stem.  Same size all the way down.
SP- Light Red/Brown
Believe they are Agrocybe but stalks are not solid.  Running 2nd spore print.

These were found 5-10 feet away tangled under knotted weeds and grass, other than the two standing on their own.  Overall very durable and smooth feeling. Have a powder blue glow.
Pileus- 1cm. Convex, umbilicate. Palid with orange/bluish tones.
Gills- Crowded and wavy, adnate, cinnamon brown.
Stipe- 2mm thick, pliable. 5cm. fiberous white with blue traces.
SP- Violet/Brown

thanks!

1. Looks like a Psathyrella species
2. The blue tinted ones look like some sort of active Psilocybe, perhaps P. caerulipes

Please wait for a trusted identifier to give you a better estimate.

Your first picture looks like Psathyrella sp. to me. The second batch allllmost resemble Ovoids, but I'm pretty sure they aren't. Not sure what they are.

Also, thank you for not ripping up the patch, you'll appreciate it in the end when they fruit again. I hope they are a rare Psilocybe for your sake as well.

they are indeed ovoids. Compare to the pic on wikipedia of P. caerulipes.

They're not caerulipes. They're probably ovoids, but maybe not. Can ovoids turn white like that? Nice find!

Baeos are in a section that does dry white. Not all Psilocybe do that.

Apples and oranges...maybe.

I'd say the second ones are most definitely ovoids.  The cap drying out is called being "hygrophonous", which means it slow changes color as it dries.  You can see that in a few of them.  Here's the pictures of ones I found recently in NJ, they definitely resemble yours:

Congrats on the finds!

Though, I should say, the pins on the top left look a bit different, especially in color.  I'm not sure if they're them.  The ones in the middle and the right are definitely them though.  Also, my spores were brownish in color, which is what I've heard they're supposed to be.
