How much did that cost ya to get it back to normal? Always wondered how much it would cost to "fix" gauged ears.

$1,200 . It was a while back and I just got tired of being turned down by employers because of them so it was for the best.

Holy shit. I had mine out to 1 1/4 and one got ripped out in a fight.
(The faggots dad held me down while I was on top of him, and he put his finger through it.)
That was a freebie cause of insurence, but they offered to match the other one for $350.
I turned them down, and I'm just about to repierce and start stretching again now that the scar seems to be gone for the most part.
I'm kind of glad, I went way too fast last time, and they were pretty thin and uneven, this time I'm going to go much slower, so it doesn't end up ripping at the scar.
My other ear healed to 1/2" naturally, and I'm pretty confident I could get it almost to close by myself, but I'd rather not.

I know, once I started kick boxing and grappling I took out all jewelry permanently. Way to easy to get snagged or yanked on something, you're really just ASKING for it

What about the likely speech impairment from such a procedure.
You would have to learn to speak again and have a lishp for quite a while.

Yeah I didn't have insurance at the time so that's why lol. And yeah I kinda miss having them too, I went too fast at one point but taking them out more often and sleeping with them out helped a lot with thickening them.
They were a hassle sometimes though. Never had anyone rip them but I remember in high school I had to go outside for a science experiment and I got my ear caught in a tree branch. Also every time I turned my head they would flap against my neck, that got kind of irritating sometimes.
Not to mention all the ridiculously annoying comments I got. "Didn't that hurt?" Multiple times a week, and "You look like you came from an African tribe" I got that one pretty often also lol.

God this thread is cringeworthy, and I'm not usually too affected by gore. Most bodily modifications just seem like unnecessary pain. And the mentions of people being attacked through body mods and jewelry hurts to read. I wear nothing except for maybe a ring once in awhile.

OH FUCK THIS IS THE WORST!! <---- That was pretty much my face upon reading that, except with more sideways convulsions. 30 minutes of that type of pain and halfway through you'd probably start hallucinating and it might even feel good.

not as good as a stitch job but at least versatile

any thoughts?
It won't mess with 99.9% of the consumer electronics out there. It may have some influence on equipment with CRT's (old-style tv's and computer screens) if you come really close (distorted colors), but that's because they rely on electrons flying absurdly large distances through a vacuum while being directed using magnets. Your finger magnet will mildly distort the image, but unless you have a freaking strong-ass magnet in your finger (which would be incredibly annoying with keys etc. sticking to your finger), it won't cause permanent damage. Of course, all modern equipment uses LCD's or OLED's and they aren't affected by mild magnetic fields. The magnet also won't noticeably influence the functioning of other semiconductors in phones, computers and other sorts of equipment. So it's pretty harmless, as long as the usual medical precautions are taken when implanting the magnet.
Regarding the split tongue: it sure looks kinky, and I guess the temporary lisp would be sort of sexy as well, but other than a few tattoos and piercings, I think body modifications are a bit over the top. But each to his own. I don't expect others to agree with some of my own arcane preferences in some areas.

thats not what i meant
consider this
if you grew up around it 24/7 i bet you wouldnt think twice about it many cultures find some of our habits disgusting or weird simply because its a polar opposite to what there used to

Obviously I would like it if that was the standard of tongues. But it isn't, so it's disgusting.

The tongue is actually made up of two muscles, once you cut the piece of skin in the middle and separate the two you can move them independently.
I wonder how good you'd be at eating out

You know, I have to say, there are certain cultural habits I like, and certain ones I don't like. The one that says "forked tongues are nasty" is one I can honestly sympathize with.
