This is the PRIMARY reason why I'm pescetarian.  If I lived by the sea or ocean I'd LOVE to be a fisherperson (like more casual because that's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world and FUCK dying like that)

Fish are pretty cheap where I live and I enjoy them grilled.

Best part about fish is that it has (for me anyway) that old world feel to it.  You can buy a whole fish, gut,  skin it, filet it and grill 3-4 of them bitches and have a feast with your compadres.

It's hard to even find a place you can do that with chicken, let alone larger animals like lamb or goat.

You're aware of the whole "we're eating up all the goddamned fish" situation, right? The last animal you should be hunting naturally today is a fish. Go shoot some of these damned deer something. We should all learn to eat cat.

yeah I was gonna mention overfishing but didn't wanna get all debbie downer on him since most of this forum hates vegans already. when you eat fish you're either contributing to overfishing or "fish farming" which is also totally disgusting.

fish farming with aquaponics can been done cleanly without monstrous environmental damage. Backyard set ups can produce wonderful veggies plus fresh tasty fish year round in most areas. Vegetarian fish can eat excess produce or unsellable ones plus kitchen waste can be used to grow fly larva that the fish love to eat. Parts can be scavenged up mostly for free and if you are in a cold area you might need a little greenhouse and ghetto tek up some way to heat it at night plus add some lights. Water quality can be maintained with a good set of growbeds so the fish don't taste like poo but an extra de-pooing tank of the clean w

I agree, I thought it was interesting Japan's Prime Minister said they were owned by the Tsunami as karma for their greed of the ocean. Supposedly a few days after the Tsunami they ended whaling for all purposes. Very superstitious culture, and thats good. Because If it was America we would have up'd our whale hunting and consumption(assuming America was a fish dependent island like Japan)

Asia's just really bad in general about that stuff especially China. Eating Tiger dicks as herbal viagra's and shit, or shark finning. Makes me so frustrated.

does it say something about the disparity between our cultures that a japanese guy says they deserved the tsunami/earthquake for something that is actually important, while jerry falwell and fred phelps say that the US deserved 9/11 for letting gay people exist?

Wiccan seeker that video is sick... I'm so upset and disappointed on the human race. If we were omnivores that video would have looked tasty. Instead what do we do with the meat? We cut it in small chunks, cooked it...we make it as if is not part of an animal. Why not factory farm slaughter aren't shown on those fancy LCD at McDonald's? It is our food..why do we choose to look away? Why the slaughter houses are so hidden away?  Why don't you choose to visit with your family? Why do we feel compassion for animals? Why don't we have claws, why don't we have sharp teeth made for cutting meat? Why do our intestine is so long like all the herbivores? Why do meat tastes bad raw and fruits and vegetables taste good, no need to hide real taste with flavoring, seasoning, cooking? Why hospitals are full with us? Why are pharmacies at every corner of the street?

If you ask for the source, I don't have it, research if you wish so or dismiss it if you can. And, in my opinion, the key evidence is ATHEROSCLEROSIS, no carnivore or omnivore can get this disease, only herbivores do, if they eat a high animal protein diet. Omnivores can be saturated with fat and cholesterol, and arteriosclerosis does not develop.

And it is not even about killing, it is about enslaving other creatures, to live in cages and misery, to repress them any natural instinct for our own selfish benefit. And we kill ourselves this way.

I'm vegan for one and half years...mostly eating raw fruits and vegetables...I don't know how to begin to describe my level of deep rooted happiness. I have lost any desire for any drug, legal or illegal...I haven't been sick, not even once. I'm fitted like never in my life. I'm in perfect health condition.

The main reason vegan attempts are doomed to fail is because people don't know how to eat...I'm just going to give you an example of what I eat today: Morning: 6-7 Bananas. Lunch: One big banana smoothie with kiwi.(1.5L) Grapes. Dinner: 1-2 Lettuce Heads. 1L Orange juice...just great.

There are fish that aren't endangered ya know!!!

http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/download.aspx

Unfortunately many of them aren't on the East Coast, where I'm at.

Mostly you'd have to eat more expensive (transport costs) and more oily/strong fishy tasting fish like herring, mackerel, and halibut.  On the plus side these fish are usually better for you.

on a side note, your link reminded me that the monterey bay aquarium is fucking CRAZY. I've always wanted to check out the bioluminescent jellyfish exhibit after dosing.  :awesomenod:
