How should they be dealt with here?

Is a poll with no vote button an inane thread?

LOL! I don't mind inane post. Especially when they come from the person that caused Doobie to post this.

No names, but I disagree.  Some people should stay in OTD

Yes, some people should stay in OTD. But looking at the forum rules,

"no personal attacks, post whoring, flames, and trolling"

they don't cover this, in my opinion. Inane threads don't equal whoring. They could change the rules though.

I think that the moderators will be sending a lot of shit to OTD from chillout. Since the restrictions have taken place, people here naturally are going to joke about it and place "insane posts" outside OTD, or they might not even mean to. I just feel like the mods are creating more work for themselves.

Actually the discussion on this started yesterday in the Mod forum.

But good guess.

To me, inanity and whoring is the same thing.  Anyone else have input on that?

I agree. I would categorize it as a type of post whore.

This is a difficult issue, but one which I believe will sort itself out over the next few weeks, as we all get a feel for how we want this new forum to function.

I think the thing that Doobie and I are in agreement on, at this point, is the discouragement of threads which have no real good point for being made in the first place. However, this too is subjective, so I think we'll all play it by ear...

If each one of us thinks before we post, then we'll all have a better forum...

TOaD, this means you too...

I accept your caveman-style thread bumping only because you are aware of it! That and how the fuck does a thread with 1000+ views have only 17 replies that isn't a sticky? :awewtf:
