Yes, but I don't think that's what you have here. I meant something specifically in the genus Polyporus. Just a guess though.

Cool mushroom, my first thought was Polyporus badius cause they start out grey and turn tan on the cap and I'm leaning towards that, but they are a bit thick in the cap and the stems haven't turned black yet.

found some more of these bad boys. this time in a completely different location. wish i knew if they were edible or not. they smell fresh and edible but...

I believe I found the same things the other day - I could have swore they were oysters until I saw the pores.

i saw them from like 100 ft. away and went running to them thinking they were oysters. only to be disappointed when i arrived at the scene.
it looks to me like you have the exact same thing.
i talked to curecat today and she said polyporus badius was her first guess, but she is by no means certain about it.

I see the edges of a lot of them turning dark. Certainly I'm no expert, but have you considered young meripilus gigantia?
