IMO animal cruelty should be treated like crimes on children. Serious jail time for abusers.

It takes a heartless coward to abuse an animal who can't or won't fight back. People who abuse animals can rot in hell for all I care, they deserve it.

not to turn this into another veg*n/omnivore debate, but I find it hypocritical that when people talk about animal cruelty, they're usually just talking about either the cute ones or the ones that have endeared themselves to humans. what makes a cow, pig, or chicken less deserving of being treated with dignity than a dog or a cat?

Most factory farms have horrible conditions for the animals and they endure tremendous suffering.

also, yes.

This is the PRIMARY reason why I'm pescetarian.  If I lived by the sea or ocean I'd LOVE to be a fisherperson (like more casual because that's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world and FUCK dying like that)

Fish are pretty cheap where I live and I enjoy them grilled.

Best part about fish is that it has (for me anyway) that old world feel to it.  You can buy a whole fish, gut,  skin it, filet it and grill 3-4 of them bitches and have a feast with your compadres.

It's hard to even find a place you can do that with chicken, let alone larger animals like lamb or goat.

Cause they're paid to air it... Commercials are a buzzkill in general, but they fund the shows we enjoy so I guess we gotta put up with it. I usually change the channel when a commercial comes on.

perhaps showing depressing-as-fuck commercials makes the shows funnier by contrast?

apparently one other reason for clubbing baby seals is that they're culling the population to increase the population of fish or something, but it's totally barbaric and the people I've seen in videos doing that shit seem to have a zeal for killing these little creatures that could only come from somebody that enjoys his job. so I don't think the idea that they're doing it for sport is too far off the mark.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_hunting#As_a_culling_method
Quote:

In March 2005, Greenpeace asked the DFO to "dispel the myth that seals are hampering the recovery of cod stocks." In doing so, they implied the seal hunt is, at least in part, a cull designed to increase cod stocks. Cod fishing has traditionally been a key part of the Atlantic fishery, and an important part of the economy of Newfoundland and Labrador. Fisheries and Oceans Canada responded there is no connection between the annual seal harvest and the cod fishery, and that the seal hunt is "established on sound conservation principles."

If I was there, no one would club a seal. Id be clubbing people. Or tranquilizing people, and putting them on an ice berg to float away into their doom. Let the polar bears maul them for all I care.

Ive decided. I will make a documentary of me fucking up animal killers/abusers.

You're aware of the whole "we're eating up all the goddamned fish" situation, right? The last animal you should be hunting today is a fish. Go shoot some of these damned deer something. We should all learn to eat cat.

yeah I was gonna mention overfishing but didn't wanna get all debbie downer on him since most of this forum hates vegans already. when you eat fish you're either contributing to overfishing or "fish farming" which is also totally disgusting.

I am all for animal testing but some of it is pretty cruel like strapping them to tables and drenching their little eyeballs in shampoo for hours on end. We pretty much know what safe and such by now and it could be toned down but really a sharing of info for safety reasons could cut down on testing. Each lab can post results up in case any chem they where even thinking of using made monkeys grow extra asses or something. That would prevent another company later from making more monkeys have to go through the process of extra ass growing.

Oh no soap in my eyes! That's so terrible!
