PF jars with whole spelt (and 'regular' wheat) mixed in?

It has been 2 years but.. I've just recently started cultivating again and to start my new adventures I thought I'd start with anything I had at home. So after searching the house I found some vermiculite from my previous attempt, some rice flour, some whole spelt and some whole wheat (thats what the bag said).
I started with just some PF jars that are now colonizing slowly.. two weeks later I put the wheat and the spelt together and cooked that just to see what would happen. It came out all mushy (cooked to long) as it turns out that spelt and wheat fall apart faster then rye. I still inoculated it even though I expect that a ball of mushy porridge like substance will not be much of a substrate..
After that I still had some BRF, verm and grains left so I put that into jars and PC'ed and inoculated that too.
Now the thing is that the overcooked grains are colonizing like crazy. It's a big jar (500ml) and in 3 days has been colonized at least for 40%
The simple PF jars that are on the shelf for 2 weeks longer are much slower.
The PF jars with grains mixed in are also colonizing much faster then the normal PF jars
I know this is probably stuff that is discussed before (although a quick search did reveal anything) and there are far to many variables to draw conclusions, but I would just like to know if anyone has the same experience with wheat or spelt speeding up the colonization of a PF cake.
Also, do the grains make for a bigger risk of contamination?
I used LC to inoculate and the jars are colonizing at 19 degrees Celsius. No contams found yet.

The growth seems to have slowed down somewhat, but is still going faster with the spelt/wheat jars.

grains DO raise the risk of contamination.....dramatically, if not prepared correctly. 40% colonization in 3 days almost certainly means that you aren't growing mushrooms in that jar. Mush mycelium just doesn't grow that fast

Well they did take 2 weeks and 4 days to fully colonize (also due to dropping temperatures ) but they did and it's looking healthy and white and everything.. I think the 'fast' colonization was superficial. I had the same thing with more jars using 20 ml of LC a jar.
