I was just trying to share my personal philosophy on life with the shroomery. That's what I thought this forum was for, but apparently this is a debate and everything is a argument.

If your all going to attack me on my debate style I think that you should take a look at yourselves first. questions I ask are ignored, and though you ask me to back up everything I say, you have all made statements that are questionable and backed up by nothing.

I think the best thing one can do if they believe as you do is to give up their computers.  Put some of that talk into action.

your right! you can have sustainable industry, but the only way to do this is to respect the delicate balance of natural ecosystems.

I have a computer because I'm going to school. Hopefully with a degree I can get a job and make enough money to buy land and live sustainable, off the grid. That is my ultimate goal, but it's not easy and requires a lot of cash to start off.

I see that your rationlization is way better than every one else's.

Summation: It is acceptable to fuck up the environment on your way to protecting the environment.

but it's not easy and requires a lot of cash to start off.

And where pray tell does this cash come from and how is it generated?

It's very hard to take anything you say seriously.

well I think that it is, but that's just my subjective opinion. If you think the benefits of industrialization out way the benefits of a sustainable ecosystem then that's your opinion.

:andyistic:

Why should we "look at ourselves first", and what makes you assume that we haven't done that? If you think any of our statements are questionable and backed up by nothing, then why don't you refute them? Can you give an example of such a statement?

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.

Yes, but your opinion is the base of your argument. So.. my opinion is that your opinion is outdated and ignorant
