One of my favorite things about DBZ was the music. Dragonball was great but I just think DBZ was more entertaining to watch even though it didn't have as much of a story. I think the Cell Saga was the best out of DBZ.

By the time DBGT came out I was already old enough to have mostly outgrown my DBZ phase so I only watched some of it. It's exactly the same as DBZ but Idk it's got a darker vibe or something to it.

But I've actually been watching the DBZ series for a few weeks now just for the nostalgia but I still like it now. I watch an episode a day

 i cant believe im posting in a DBZ thread

but my avatar is about power rangers

there is no comic character as strong as goku he is good with the Ki

oh i found out why DBZ isnt cool in a funny way.

i went to the tattoo shop with my cousin, blazed as fuck, bc he wanted his nipples pierced.  i was talking with some biker dudes there about tatoos and piercings.  i asked the tatoo guy if he would wanna do a DBZ dragon on my shoulder.

Silence.

woops, guess not.  i think dude piercing my cousins nipples went extra slow bc i said that. :lmao:

even though we are ashamed to admit it, we all watched DBZ and pokemon alright. dont hide it. you loved that shit. Teknoman was one of my favourites too man.

what is really disheartening for me is that, i downloaded all of these cartoons i used to watch tonnes when i was a kid, and i was so excited to watch them all. but they are too shitty to watch now, like as people say it takes 10 episodes for anything to happen in DBZ, or like in teknoman, that show was epic as fuck, but the animation is just too crappy now. and even with the old school x-men cartoon series, which was godly, its too old and shitty to watch.

so the moral of the story is to make the most of things while you have them ! because later on they will be shart ay

I don't want to discuss or watch DBZ ever again because in my childhood I loved it greatly, despite how stupid it probably was, and I don't want to spoil that idyllic image of it for no reason.

Plus I watched the episode where cell is beating the fuck out of gohan on mushrooms and it was NOT pleasant

Maybe I missed it but it seems like no one has brought up Dragon Ball Z Kai. It's a very recent remake of DBZ, pretty sure they're still coming out with new ones in Japan. It's so fucking badass. This might be sacrilegious but it's totally better than the original DBZ, especially for the people who hate all the filler/excessive powering up, since all the filler's been cut and it's condensed to somewhere around 100 episodes. I'm up to 88 and it's Goku vs. Cell already. Plus it's super HD, the drawings and the animation. There's no censorship (at least in Japanese) and the fights look more brutal. Animation has improved A LOT in the 20+ years since DBZ came out.

GET ON THAT SHIT!!!

I was goku for halloween in 4th grade. And currently have a nostalgic collection of dbz action figures from my youth. Oh yeah my cousin brought me a stack of dbz hentai magazines from his trip to japan when I was 11 lol. Don't have those anymore.. when I was 15 one of my girl friends was going through my bookshelf in my room and found them. Decided I never wanted to be in that awkward situation again and trashed them.

I was obsessed with dbz, budokai when it came out was amazing. I had all my friends over constantly to play it. Dragonball final bout was a great game that fucked me over financially. it was a game released for ps1 in the 90s in japan and had budokai type animation. You could fight with characters from dbgt almost 8 or 9 years before the series came out in america. They made 10000 copies of it in english and I payed 100 bucks for one in like 2002 at a local game shop. The copies on ebay were selling for up to $500 so it seemed like an investment. Only a few years later fuckin bandai re releases it dropping the original copy to shit. Id be lucky to get 20 bucks for it now.

Dude I spent over a thousand on pokemon cards. Have books full of those first base set holographics that are worthless. I wouldn't really do it differently because pokemon played such a huge role in my child hood. Did make a nice bit of cash off yugioh though before the trent faded. I don't get involved with that shit anymore but as a kid I was a sucker for that stuff. And pokemon was retarded big in our pop culture around the time the first movie came out.

I actually was playin my childhood yellow version a few weeks back for nostalgic shits and giggles. Let's keep this a dbz thread for respect of the OP. But I think a pokemon threads in order and I'm sure a lot more people would go to it just because dbz was something I can't recall any girls getting into when I was a kid lol

bro, you know in prison how they use ciggarettes as currency?? in my primary school pokemon cards and yoyo's were currency. no shit. i was a pimp in primary school man i had all the best yoyo's and could pull all the tricks and shit. and i had all the silver reflecty charizard cards. i sold one for $20 to this kid one time, and the kid paid me in 20c pieces man. like wtf. i had to walk home holding my pants up cos the coins weighed that much. But the school banned them because the older kids were trading the best cards to retard ass lower grade kids for like squirtles and magicarp and retard ass pokemon. was funny shit though.
