Possible laughing Jacks/Gyms (Junonius) NSW

I found the both cluster samples near the base of a tree. I was looking for subs. The bright orange caps with yellowish flesh is very distinct, but just as you people would know there is other Gymnopilus strains. They have a strong typical mushroom odor. From a bit of research it seems some are active and other of the same strains can be inactive. Does any one know about these in Hunter Valley area?
A: This batch was in the wood chip and decomposing foliage under a tree I don't remember what tree
B: Found the second batch under a gum tree, in the rotting bark.

I can't see noticeable blue or green staining, if pinched. However I was reading yesterday that some of the active strains don't bruise blue/green? This seems to be a tricky species.

I'm going for other actives because I'm almost confident subs mightn't be around here. (Newcastle) Been to several different bush lands searching, several different parks with bark, wood chip, pine needle garden beds. A pine forest, etc. 7x days in a row searching.
Might travel to Sydney to have a geeze.

Gymnopilus junonius.
The only way to know if they're active is too try them. Perhaps in a tea.

150g fresh roughly into a tea, flavour it at the end with anything you can think of to make the taste better, honey, cinamon ect.

150g is weighty. Should I spore print first? Should I tell my foaf to expect Diarrhea? Should he strain the shrooms out of boiling water for the tea? Cut them up first? Sorry for noob questions all. He's never done shrooms before.

It's fairly unlikely you will feel any effects, other than maybe a slight amount of relaxation. You never know though as they are generally active in other countries.
There is a bit more info here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14106141/page/7. I am not sure if people generally chop them up finer than I did or not, and yeah strain out the tea before consumption.

80-150g's fresh. chop up very fine. boil water (amount of tea you want to consume), then add 2 tablespoons of sugar and a squeeze of fresh lemon. dissolve the sugar. add mushrooms and turn off heat. let sit for 30-45 minutes stirring occasionally. add powdered iced-tea mix. stir to dissolve. strain through 2 coffee filters. serve over ice. *make sure to squeeze the coffee filters to get extra goodness.* you should be tripping before you finish the glass.

I will most likely give it another shot if I find some other than my front yard ones. The tea was actually reasonably pleasant.

Hey all!
Nom noms! Tea wasn't a bad taste at all, though I did add a few flavor maskers, also reading the more acrid and bitter tasting caps tent to the larger ones. So I got 150g of the smallest caps and pins, I also added 2 gram of marijuanilla (Leonurus siberious) herb, teaspoon of honey and teaspoon of sugar
I notice a certain mood change, feeling pretty euphoric at them moment, could be just the few cones I had to counter and possible nausea. Also I have no doubt the marijuanilla has a slight effect also. My room mates mentioned as they just got back they can see my pupils are different. So I'm skeptical and curious at the same time. I'll tell you all how it goes.

they don't contain any psilocybin hence no staining. but they are still active with other compounds, some dude posted his experience with these not long ago. he also made it into a tea I think

i have plenty of experience with both staining and non-staining gyms. junonius will produce heavy blue bruising pins and aborts here in florida.

vs.

(i only found about 3 pins staining from this sp.)

like i said, gyms are tricky.

Stopwispering added a report in march, linky is above.
I believe the effects are possibly wearing off now, however these gyms still have a mind clearing and nice feel to them, obviously the kava-like chemicals found in this strain. I'd characterize the feeling similar to a mild hawaiian baby woodrose trip. I would refer to this as an entheogen. Not worth the effort in the future maybe, but I'm happy for the experience. In the second photo I originally posted; I only grabbed the large cap, this Gym might be slightly different growing from a different tree, and I believe a thicker stalk. Possibly a different chemical makeup, though these were an older cluster.
Amazing pictures bloodworm.

a. def. junonius. b. could be a different strain. u have any other pics of the stem and gills? junonius will have much a broader heafty stem. if the stem was attached to a log or growing from debris and was slender, i'd say u have 2 different strains. however, if the stems were nice and bulbous and heavy than junonius is likely. from the stem on the 2nd pic i'd say both are junonius.
glad you had a good experience man.

Here is a few pics, apparently it takes a good 12+ hours to get a decent print. What you make of this: ;D
1: Obviously the cluster on the left is A

keywords being "in florida". in australia they don't stain blue and are non-active at least not with psilocybin. the dude that bioassayed them had enough to know there was no psilocybin
