It's just sitting on this property and it cant stay there in the condition it's in, it really has to be emptied.

is it outside? and far away from open flame or houses? crack it open a little bit and let it out real slow.

it really might be best to hook it up to a heater or something if its close to houses and such to burn it all off.

yeah just slow or crank it. Are you away from everything? I would blow it up if it was in the backwoods though. I would have loved to have a free 100lb tank for my heater.

propane is heavy so anything could set it off... like a ciggerette or a frayed wire

A flame/torch attachment :borat:

I used to use them at my old work for heating and scrapping up asphalt, needless to say they can be fun :smirk:. I used to stick the end of the torch into a bucket filled with water and let out some propane, the propane would bubble up and create bubbles on top of the water that were filled with propane...Then I would light the bubbles on fire, I have way too much fun with fire though  ..

But really, 100lb tank is a decent amount of propane. Is it completely full?...Even if you were able to crack it open a bit (some valves prevent you from doing this) and let it flow out freely (also dangerous), it's going to take quite a while for it to empty. You can have that shit hooked up to a BBQ grill for days on end and it probably won't run out. Remember the propane is in a liquid state while under pressure in the tank, and it expands in A LOT when not under pressure and in a gas state....So basically what I'm saying is, if indeed it's full, there is a shit load of propane in that tank.

Why don't you just post an add on cragslist or something listing it for free or really cheap ...I have no doubt someone would swoop it off your hands, ya might even be able to make a $ or two.

:stoner:

Craigslist is great! Good idea too, that way you can make money and get rid of the thing at the same time.

Best method is by far to burn it off.  Attach the propane tank to some device that ejects flame like an outdoor cooker or that neat flamethrower and carefully increase the fire. Follow all directions on product packaging and in manual.

I like the flamethrower idea, but then he needs to spend $$, and when the gas is gone, then what?
