So I have some spawn that is nearly finished taking over the jars i have but its suddenly got warmer and growth has slowed down. I don't use AC because I like to tough it out all summer long (and I'm poor). I was woundering at what point will the heat kill my jars? I'm at around 85F and 70 humidity right now.

It's too hot when it's so hot that you'r posting if it's too hot because your jars have stalled. 85F will do it, too. You'r going to need a way to cool your spawning area.
Truly dedicated to this hobby,? Get yourself a small window unit AC. Look around at thrift stores and pawn shops for deals them. (ebay, cragilist). Adhere in front of the unit, a high grade return-air filter for filtered cool air.
Mycelium colonizes in quart jars best at room temps. (70-75F)

Get yourself a cooler and some ice. Find a way to keep them cool without ice touching the jars making it too cold.

Put the jars under your house or some other cool spot. Keep them at or below 80F to avoid a higher than normal rate of contamination. RR

Welcome to my world I cultivate in my house all summer where it's often in the 90's without any problems. It could be that your temperature isn't the problem, remember these are a tropical species where they often see high temps.Of course if you have to low or too high temps growth isn't going to be optimal thats just something that we have to deal with in the summer or winter months
