Great share, thank you. I do disagree with his statement about the identity moving on after this lifetime. I believe many of the perceptions we have of the afterlife do carry on but not the identity.

Perhaps he meant the illusion of identity will carry on but his essence of the 'after death' seemed dreary in comparison to my understanding. I believe it is much more vast than his short and unintended explanation of it.

The state of the mind and the way the self perceives reality does carry on to an extent. It changes but the sum attitude of this life will determine that of the next. In this sense the identity goes on, how else would you evolve from one life to the next.

It's not like your "identity" now is going to be the same 20 years from now, it will neither be different nor the same.

Death is the destruction of the physical body, the body is ultimately an illusion and thus so is death.
