Hello, I came here to ask for some advice. I know that there are teks for making your own substrate, but I am not able to do that at the moment. So for my first grow I want to use pre sterilized materials.
I am ordering today so I can use some last minute advice. I am getting a Cambodian spore syringe. I want to get a 1lb rye grain bag, but people say they take too long to colonize. Should I got with a Rye jar instead?
After colonization I want to fruit them using the casing method. If I break up the Grain bag in the bottom of a tub and put this 50/50 casing substrate (http://www.mycopath.com/5050-peatverm-casing-mix-3-quarts-p-5.html) on top will I be set?
Is 3 quarts enough for a 1lb bag? If not i will simply grow out of the bag, but it is said they produce smaller yeilds.
Thanks guys.

cased grains won't give you yields like you'd like.
Just use Damion5050's Elementary Coir tek here for bulk spawn.
It's simple, requires very little materials & works like a charm.
