These were found 30-50 yards steeply uphill from flowing creek, half mile from mouth of river. Growing on a sizable slat of decaying hardwood. Central Nj Gills- Close to crowded, adnexed, dark brown- some stained black. Not sure the technical term, but I spent time cleaning between the gills and I could describe their individual shape and tapering alignment to resemble scales. If that is helpful. Stipe- largest 9 cm x 1.5 cm. No remnants of annulus or veil. White, bruising when injured, darker at base. Hollow, hardy, will peel before it breaks. Pileus- Ranging 2cm - 6cm. Brown-orange/Chestnut in center, brown-yellow at margin, bruising purple/black where touched, even transferring 'stain' onto point of contact. Convex during immaturity, flattening, wavy- concave with age- umbo ever present.. Textured, firm and rubbery, center emits ridged radial seams I believe a result of sun exposure. SP- Dark purple/brown/black Odor and taste are farinaceous. Have another batch I'll be posting. Thanks

That "purple black bruising" is actually a bunch of deposited spores.
I'd call these a Lacrymaria species.
